Student Highrollers

As I said in another thread, I've been on a 6 month break from live poker. when I last played at Nottingham there were a few new faces that were obviously University students. they were playing the £10 / £20 limited buy in games and the £30 rebuy.
I come back six months later and they're are making up half the numbers at a cash game in matching hoodies, sunglasses and huge headphones pulling up between £500 and £1000 each and reloading the same.
you can't tell me they are all playing off huge bankrolls earned at the tables. some student overdrafts / loans taking a hammering I think.

I know/knew several guys like that in scotland..you see most of them for a few weeks/months and then all of a sudden most of them are never heard of again. Fantastic.

Are you referring to the Gala casino in Nottingham Adam? It is quite funny the numbers there are and the money some of them seem to have, particularly two of the guys I have seen with thousands and one of them is most definitely at the university. One of them I spoke to apparently plays £10/£20 online. I myself play there and am a student but I don't often stretch past the £30 freezeout and I don't wear a hoodie, I do like the headphones tho....
. You should not hear a student going "if I dont qualify for the Gala Poker Tour i'll just buy in".
Makes you wonder what happens to the poor(literally) percentage who do dump their loans on it. Something I nearly managed to do after my first year of playing. Glad I had the sense to give myself a reality check and understand BR management. Going well now
.

Grandchav! I almost like that. Almost.
I thik every player should wear a chesercutter cap, or trilby, & wear woollen driving gloves. I could start a trend.
