3 answers.

Blimey I must be bored tonight.  Sad

Anyhow, thought this would be an interesting poser. I've always wondered what you lot thought of the poker on the box.

Mine are:

(i) orignal Late Night Poker - may not be playing now if it wasn't for the lure of this show.

(ii) World Poker Tour - really took poker to a new level and brought it to the millions. Probably gave us more fish.  Grin I love the commentary on it too. Plus, Shania Hyatt  Shocked Shocked Shocked

(iii) WSOP - love the fact it gives us a range of games and events.

UK Poker Open was unique cos it was live and you got to see every hand - but was it just as entertaining? I'm not sure. Enjoyed it though.

Have I missed any big name shows out?

The WPT was a very good show which was turned into a great show by Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten with their commentyr. "Whats he doin' Vince?"  "he's going all in Mike, standing up and being a man" absolute genius

LNP original for me every time. My entire house had 9am lectures on a Fri but we NEVER missed a show. Now TV poker bores me.

They never repeated that level of tension for me. The black background, the smokey atmosphere.....

LOVE IT!

Wasn't it also one of the few 1 million viewer plus, after midnight shows?

LNP, WPT and then the rest

LNP introduced so many of us to the game, WPT introduced so many of us to the great American players and Shana Hiatt.  Grin

I loved LNP, and it made Mr Heid into the poker fanatic he is now - I remember the first time he saw it - we were up late that night (unheard of for him). he was hooked after that.

Interestingly enough they had the final with Paul Maxfield on last night's WPT on sky, and I had to stay up and watch the end of it even though I was pooped from my gadding about on Saturday.

Shania whathertits, doesn't do it for me Sad

Live poker is the best imo, especially if you're actually trying to learn something from it. Everyone slags off poker den and i agree the cash thing and the commentary/searching thing is a bit silly but to see how devilfish for example takes people off hands has been an influence on my game. i think they should have 2 dealers (one shuffling one deck while the other deals another) though to make it run a bit quicker.

Watched the Party Poker Heat of the UK Speed Poker Open tonight, not bad viewing.

We really don't need 2 poker channels tho do we, they're full of repeats and 226 shows loads of shite that isn't even poker related. Not to mention some of the old black n white films I've seen on there, pure garbage!

I dont know about UK TV.

But its been on ESPN for weeks now. (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/poker/news/story?id=2073630)

You can download them as torrents from numerous places online.

As for my favourite poker show it has to be ESPN's World series coverage. Norman Chad is an excellent commentator for us poker newbies Smiley
