Herbie goes Bananas now, or rather his opponent did.

Ian Herbert raised it up to 800, Mark O'Donnell made it 2,400, Ian pushed and Mark called for 3k more.

Whilst Ian nervously revealed his Pocket Tens, perhaps thinking that at best he was in a coinflip situation, Mark showed a rather intriguing , which, come the two spades board, failed to improve, subsequently ending his stint in the comp.

Some DTD counts...

Dave Colclough -- 8,750
Rob Yong -- 12,450
Paul Jackson -- 8,300

Wondrous synchronicity (Batman!) - I just took these photos of them:

Chris Smith is on 11k. He was down to 4k at one point, but nicked his way up to 5.5k before doubling up with Nines vs. Ace King.

Found Chris Moorman, he's still in with 10,550.

Still no sign of Thomas Wahlroos though, not often he exits this early.

One Hand Rumit is somehow still in with 24k, suggesting that perhaps we should consider changing his derogatory moniker to 6-Level Rumit.

In his dreams!

Nuala Hyland is currently on Table Marty Wilson, and while I was there I caught a hand between Mr Wilson and Bambos Xanthos. Marty made a smallish bet pre-flop and Bambos called from the button. Flop  three diamonds - check, check. Turn -  , and Marty checks. Bambos bets 2050, and Marty insta-raises to about 15,000. After enquiring whether Marty was holding 4-7 "because you like to play that sort of hand", Bambos folds. Marty shows  and claims he was holding an ace too. He asked whether Bambos had AJ, and from the fidgeting and downward-staring, he may well have done.

Peter Eastgate bets 2k and Murat Yalkin calls with , saying "Just incase", which basically translates as "I'm a scaredy cat".

And let's not leave out Paul Zimbler, who's lost a bit after his early lead... his table (in the form, mainly, of this guy pictured gesticulating wildly) encouraged him to relate how he "gave away chips"- once someone "didn't lay down AK" to a big re-raise, and another time Paul's Queens bet a K-9-6 flop (2k) got called, checked the 6 turn and tried to get the other guy off the 9 river with a 4.5k bet.  K-Q wasn't having it, and that was another 7k chunk out of his chip tower.

He's still pretty perky, however (as you can tell by his picture) and not on life-support chipwise by any means.

The Devilfish is present, currently being carressed by a young unidentified lady (thankfully not Dana).

He's also being his usual confident self, commenting after every hand in that familiar self-praising way.

The latest being a check on a three clubs board, his opponent showing A-Qo for the attempted but failed trap check and Devilfish adding, "I knew he had Ace Queen as soon as he check called the Turn.

Still, he's one of our biggest stars and has probably done more than most for the face of British poker, so good luck to him.

Here he is giving son Dan some advice, "Try not to get too short stacked, but if you do, nick your way up to 5.5k and then look for a double through race..."

They're in the middle of the two-session dinner break, but Snoopy's on the floor and if they're in the half still sat at the tables we'll find their counts...

It appears as though Paul Gourlay is the last remaining shadow with 5,100.

Nik, who called off three bets with trip fours versus a nut flush on a 4-x-x flop (all clubs), took the 8pm flight home, whilst Ash Hussain and Matt Tyler quickly followed with equally early departures from this year's Irish Open.

come home u shadows no gud 4 anything else
