Those downhill putts on fast greens are always tricky.

Of course, you must always ensure there are no marks, on the green.

My initial thought was that they are all stupid to be playing for these sums on "gentleman's agreement" handicaps. But these things are all relative and I guess it's no different to me playing for 50p a hole.
Ivey's case is blown apart if there's any truth in the comment that he felt it was Ram's fault that he hadn't played enough to be able to play to his handicap and that he didn't have his own clubs with him. I agree with that stance - no handicapping committee is going to give you an adustment upwards to your handicap if you simply haven't played for 2 or 3 months.
But, you can't take that stance while hiding the truth about your own performances. I see this as similar to the situation where a club golfer plays at other courses - they are duty bound to hand in their cards to the committee at their own course, and their handicap is adjusted accordingly.
Golf is a game of honour. From what I've read, Ivey has none.

On the subject of cases being blown apart:
Ram's admission that Lindgren's handicap v's Ivey was only mentioned on the third day of play rather than being a key ingredient in the pre-match handicap determining discussions, rather puts a dent in Mr. Cool's earlier claims.

The main point to remember here is that they were friends at the start of this, if you believe (and i do) Rams side of the story then Ivey is totally out of order and not only should he not be paid, if a friend tried to do this to me at stakes that mattered enough to hurt me badly then he would be likely to be minus a few teeth for out and out trying to rip me off.
If they were friends and if ivey had any sort of decency then at the end of the first round he should have admitted that he was a much improved player and re based the handicaps properly for the next day. They could have had a laugh about it and ram would have paid up what was owed from that day i am sure.
Cheating stinks, what ever format it takes. Cheating a friend out of sums of money that hurt is just incomprehensible.
I would be very interested to see ivey respond directly to rams message

atmosphere was great, everyone really friendly but the grounds were only half full at best.
More red stripe to go round though.
The "party stand" at the ground was a mess by mid afternoon, lol. Suprised someone didnt drown in the pool !

Thought the grounds looked a bit empty in the matches I watched, like you said though, aslong as the red Stripe was flowing.

The real consideration here is with regards to the issue of how will this effect the hendon mobs deal with Full Tilt poker. I don't know any of the details of their deal but if this issue doesn't get resolved I can image the high profile American Full Tilt players possibly making some negatives representation of the Hendon Mob to the Full Tilt suits which may potentially see the mobsters looking for new sponsorship.
Who's of greater value to Full Tilt, the hendon mob or Phil Ivey and his mates???
Bit of a no brainer.
