hello all

Im off to manchester next week on a course for mentoring apprentices...

part of the course requires that i correctly and by using good communication convey a task across to my apprentice..

It is to be of short duration and is something that the said apprentice will be able to demonstrate himself giving only ten minutes...

examples are how to send a text message, make a giraffe by origami or wire a plug ( that kinda thing )

so im thinking of card shuffling.....so what is the correct professional shuffle? ( and the right terminology ) and do u think a  complete novice that hasn't used cards would get away with this task with in ten minutes?

all help appreciated,if not any good bars in the city centre?lol

do you know who your 'apprentice' on the course is going to be?  If so, I'd pick something that you think would suit their skills (or better still, something they're already good at!).  I'd say shuffling was a dodgy one - I've been shuffling in self dealt games for over a year and I'm still not comfortable with it.

Maybe something a bit easier to master - a simple card trick?

Teach them Omaha hi-lo.

That's dead easy...
