Guys, I need some help with this damn laptop.  since I got it back from the repair shop I am unable to get it working off the battery power.  It always has to be connected to the main power socket.  I have hunted high and low for the manual that came with it but surely these things are all the same and one of you clever blondites know how to crack this.  Incidentally its a Toshiba model if that helps.

Im not sure how much help this will be but have you tried this,
Press start, Go to control panel, press switch to classic view (top left), select Toshiba Power Management. From there you can adjust your settings for AC power and Battery power, not sure if that solves your problem though m8 but best of luck.
