Not too much action at the moment, as you'd expect from a 20k event with 68 players on Day 1, the last half decent pot I caught sight of being one that Warsaw EPT runner-up Farid Meraghni took down with a 4k bet on a two spades.

However, I did get a snap of Copenhagen EPT 2006 Champ Mads Andersen (cough).

And just as I'm moaning about the lack of breath-taking non-stop action (my wrists shall be slapped), I stumble upon a sudden exit.

As I trundled over innocently to Table 6, I had a feeling something was about to go down when I spotted 4k in the pot and the dealer announcing '4 handed pot (although in French) as he dealt out the Flop.

Shaoul Derdugo checks, Gilbert Chahine checks, Nouel Antoine bets 1k and Xavier Laszc fold.

Then, out of the blue like a tikay pot scoop, Dedugo made it 3k, Antoine pushed all-in and Dedugo called without hesitation.

Crikey O'Reilly, it's as mad as a box of monkeys in here, because we've lost another, and the hand is a corker... an outdraw in fact.

Anthony Lellouche, who perhaps wasn't taking this event as seriously as he may have done, raised it up pre-flop with after seeing most the table limp before him.

One guy called and they both saw a Flop of three clubs.

Lellouche bet 1,125, Frenchieboy added another 3,500 and Lellouche moved all-in for around 11k more.

Now, I know what you're thinking, this Lellouche guy is crackers, and you'd be right, but what about this, Frenchiboy called with the worst hand!!!

Well, at least Lellouche can say he got it in with the best of it, ahead pre-flop, ahead on the Flop and ahead on the Turn.

You can see why some of the Scandies fancied this comp.

Americaner living in Londoner, Brian Johnson, has had his stack chopped in half (11,200) after running A-J into Ryad Abour's set of fives on a 2-5-8-J board.

"This Ryad's incredible, he always calls, never raises. I even saw him call a 100 bet on the River with 3-4 (no pair) and a 2 on the board, meaning he had the worst possible hand. He muttered something in French, but he was either saying, 'It was only 100' or 'I'm the village idiot'.

When I asked Brian where he lives in England, he replied, "Well, I live in London at the moment, but I'll be living in a tent in the middle of nowhere soon if I carry on like this."  Grin

While I was counting up Mr Cool's chip count, I saw a chunky hand unfold between Csaba Kuremszki (left) and Jan Boye (right), the latter moving all-in for 14.5k after Csaba had bet 6k into a Flop of . Csaba foled and Jan took down a nice pot.

This chap, who has 20,500 is currently complaining to Bruno about being made to show a hand that could normally be mucked, adding, "You change the rules all the time, I just want the rules to be the same every time."

In the end, it was discovered that one of the TD's had made an error and Bruno apologised on his behalf, but was adamant in emphasising that the rules hasn't changed at the Aviation Club in 15 years.

Here is that chappy now in his momentary state of perplexion.

And with that, the players have gone on what looks like a humongous 2 and a half hour dinner break.  Shocked

Meanwhile, Bruno Fitoussi was very keen to inform us that American stars Freddie Deeb and John Hennigan (who I believe won a WPT earlier in the year) had confirmed entry into this comp for tomorrows Day 1B.

Okey dokey, buffet time, but I'l be back later to attempt a more comprehensive chip count of the remaining 60 players.

In the meantime, how about a quick caption comp.

A big prize for the best line for this piccy of Ian Frazer and a neighbouring Scandie...
