Great film. Seminal, ground-breaking, thought provoking....for once all the gushing film critique cliches apply.

Most of the adaptations of Philip K Dick's stories have been translated well into film....Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority Report etc.

Put a great director like Ridley Scott in charge, a well written script and Harrison Ford on top form and all the ingredients for a classic were there.

Philip K Dick has such a huge body of work that there are lots of other great films out there to be made in the future. Hooray!

Will these still play on today's desktops though?

I can't get Monkey Island nor Discworld to work on my laptop because they are too old.
this one works fine on my machine, snoopy.

WHAT FILM ? ! ? ! ? ! ?

The seminal sci-fi film from 1982, an absolute classic, prefer the original theatrical release to the Directors cut, Harrison Ford's voice over pieces certainly set the tone of the film for me.

The two are totally different in the treatment of the Harrison Ford character. The Directors cut is a far more thought provoking version while the original was hacked by the studio pre-release.

Great film, but what it has to do with welsh robots I have never figured out.

Are they DOS games? If so DOSBox will sort you out quick smart.

You can get Beneath A Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen for free (legally) here:

I think you can also use Scumm to get Monkey Island working if you want too.

BladeRunner was loosely based on the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick.

The answer is, of course, 'only the welsh ones'.
