Well, you'll do well if you can find a worse player than this. Absolutely massive -EV to just play position with no cards at all! Put him to the top of your "buddy list."

yeah the plan was to check call. was just suprised at the bet that came in.

I don't know to be honest! My earlier post is indicating that I think it's a call ,but I hate calling overbets on the river. (Although I think overbets with the nuts, or other monster hand, are more usually made into relatively small pots.)

I was going to post on this thread before, but I thought you summed things up perfectly when you said the decision was entirely player dependant.  If this was an unknown British player on a site like Ladbrokes I'm callin 100% of the time.  I wouldn't call on stars and probably not on party, but maybe on crypto.
