Really that bad? Does it matter who we have as the manager whilst those two clowns own the club? I don't think so.
At least Hodgson is a manager who fits the Liverpool mould.
I think I'm more worried about Stevie & Fernando leaving. I dont see this as hodgsons fault to be fair, but I dont believe he will be able to keep the big boys at the club!
If he does, then we still have a fighting chance and something to build on next year. I will give hodgson a chance as you have to! Support the club no matter what!!
Lets see what the season brings......
I think Torres and Gerrard (and Mascherano) are more likely to stay at the club with Hodgson in charge than us not getting a manager for another month or so. I'd be surprised to see Torres leave to be honest. He stayed at Athletico for years without CL football, and seems to be the type to stay at a club and be part of it for the long-haul. Of course, he might be made a very lucrative offer from some mega-rich club and have his head turned. But I expect to see him at Liverpool next season.
As for Gerrard, maybe I'm being optimistic, but I see him being at Liverpool next year too. The only place I can see him going is to Real, but can't see him leaving to go to another English club.
Mascherano I can see leaving - but we'll just have to wait and see. Hope I'm wrong about the last one and right about the first two.
Realistic goals for next season? CL qualification is the target surely, along with a decent Europa run. Hodgson is hopefully the sort of manager who can get the most out of the squad, and even with all the doom and gloom mongers - it's not a bad squad after all.
It's a good ish side but it's not deep enough for European football.
IMHO I think it'll be Torres staying at least a year, Gerrard going and Mascherano definitely going. I'm not so fussed about Mascherano though. Not because he's not a very good players but the constant speculation is too much and he's replaceable.

Would be a great buy, as we need someone on the left. Or, maybe we can leave him on the bench and then bring him on up front alongside a spud-headed prozzie botherer who can't be arsed to play with 20 minutes to go?

I can tell you that for 100% certainty, two weeks ago all, yes all the executive boxes and suites at Anfield had a makeover, and some were ripped out completely. 100k is being spent on the makeover.
Now does that sound like a move is going to happen?.
Liverpool FC have manged to renage on so many promises to the local community it makes a recent user on this forum look like a saint.
They single handed managed to close down the only community club within a mile of the ground, leaving kids of all ages without that facility, to rebuild that may have only took 30k. Plus the countless houses and local businesses demolished to make way for the new begining, they alone are not to blame, the council were also taken for a ride. Now all thats left is wasteland, it looks like the 1950's rather than 2010.
Ask any resident within a few miles of LFC what they think of the club, and you will get a short and not to pleasent answer. LFC are not a club that looks after their own, in fact they are an embaresment.

Erm, we know there's going to be no move with the current owners. That's nothing new.
If we get taken over by Sheikh Khalifa (for example), then the move will certainly be on.
Not sure what you're saying about the "countless houses and local businesses demolished to make way for a new beginning". Can you link to the evidence for this please?

I used to work at the ground, and saw all the places that had been demolished, and there were I believe NO local businesses, only a few houses which were all owned by LFC on the anny road where i used to work, plus parts of the park..
Also you will find that local support for the club is no worse now than it has ever been by the local residents who want the club to move out of anfield, although this is only from personal knowledge and not fact/s

Exactly, it's been like that for years now - none of it related to the proposed new move to Stanley Park.

If Torres were to leave I actually fear he might join David Silva at City.

How little you know about your football club.
1. The VERNON SANGSTER youth club was closed down because the council were told by LIVERPOOL F.C the diggers will start their the August after they got planning permission. That sports centre was a life line to the local community, the nearest now is the Pitz,,or Breckside. Now the local community have lobbied LFC for a new structure so the after school clubs can continue. NO MONEY WAS THE ANSWER. But they find 100k to refurbish the boxes.
2. Go on the KOP side of the ground, Look at all the 'V' streets , yes you cant miss them, all residents moved out and all boarded up, populated by about 10,000 rats at the moment, it was a 50/50 split between LFC and the council to rebuild there including a old age pensioners nursing home, those residents were moved out on a temporary basis, and promised they would be back in their new houses within a year,,3 years later, Nothing. The local business's along walton breck road were told the same...
3. You a very very misguided when you say that the locals give LFC support, The reality is they beleive nothing that comes out the club, to many false dawns, and to be honest unless you get a BILLIONAIRE to take over, LFC are on a serious downward spiral, I am aware 'alledgedly' of what will happen with SG over the next two months, lets just say his personel life aint sweet at the moment. I could go on, but i shan't.

Gerrard made absolutely no mention of looking forward to working with Hodgson or anything similar to that in his quotes about the appointment.
