Since Aquilani became a starter, Juve are undefeated & he's completed 322 of 353 passes.

Thats one decision i really dont understand letting aqualani go out on loan.

As to yesterdays game ive taken the piss out of lucas many a time but yesterday he was absolutely immense and was my man of the match.

Please Roy stick with playing 2 up front, Nando loves it as do i!

Plus the Aquilani loan is free! Except the wages where is the value in that? They can now buy him for £13m.

On the last few games last season alone I don't know how anyone can't see his value.

Never thought I'd enjoy watching a video like this.  Lucas in a Liverpool shirt with a MOTM performance.

I dont want to turn this into an all out Lucas Leiva lovefest but all i will say is that word i would use to sum him up is "comfortable" he looks far more settled in the side , calmer on the ball, not feeling as much pressure and the crowd not on his back anymore, I hope he keeps playin instead of Poulsen that fo sho.

Anybody think Hodgson is responsible for the new found confidence Lucas has? Or the form Torres has run into? Or the results the team is producing? When results were poor and performances drab it was entirely Hodgson's fault wasn't it? Now performances and results are improving it's down to the players, and it is they who get all the accolades. A great run for Liverpool lately and I am very pleased that a guy who was apparently out of his depth is having an impact. Perfect manager for Liverpool imo and think he'll work well with the new owners.

It's always the same.  When some teams win, it's the manager who's a genius; and then they lose, it's the players' fault.  With Liverpool it's been the reverse for quite a while.  Rafa rarely got credit (from the media) when his sides had great results, but he was often blamed for the bad ones.  His rotation policy was lambasted in much of the media, but Ferguson's very similar approach received no such criticism.  It looks like Woy is suffering from the same thing as Rafa.

Zonal marking under Rafa was also the same.  When we defended set-piece after set-piece successfully (and had the best record in the league for this for several seasons on the trot) it was the players who were applauded.  When a goal was conceded (as this does happen apparently, even to the best defences), it was a failure of the zonal marking system Rafa employed and it was also responsible for the war in Iraq and the global recession.

Woy still says some daft things hwen he's interviewed after matches, but I do like the fella and hope he shows that he is the right man for the job.

I warming to Hodgson, I'm not warming to his haircut.

Yah his haircut is terrible. However, I reckon this is a decent indication of a proper football manager. Look at Moyes, look at Wenger. It's all about a simple unstyled bird's nest atop of the head. This gives out the message the wearer isn't interested in women, isn't interested in appearance or fashion, only interested in football. However, in Wenger's case I'm not so sure anymore.

No to Torres and especially Lucas or The Greek (both were very good last year IMO) but yes to tactics, formation, dropping Poulsen, Konchesky's form, giving the kids a go, Skrtel's form.

This is my worry with Hodgson. I get surrendering possession to Chelsea and playing on the back foot. Tactics were bang on with this current team as we cannot match them. But the same tactics vs Wigan? An unchanged XI that looked knackered after 25 mins? Kuyt of for Poulsen with 20 mins to go at 1-1?

It's just small club 'mentalitee'! I don't care if this ends 5-1 to us, this is not the way we should have played tonight.

Only one person to blame for the tactics tonight.

Surely Wigan and Chelsea is a horses for courses scenario?

I get playing Meireles in front of Kelly against Ashley Cole but to stick him on the right again tonight? Surely Vs N'Zogbia a similar cover was needed for Konchesky (who was comfortably owned tonight) and the right side should have been a point to attack from? Maybe Kuyt on the right with Torres and N'gog up front? Even Babel would have worked I think.

And somebody for the love of God please get The Greek and Agger fit quickly!

Even though he was pants tonight I fear for our season if Gerrard gets injured.
