Yeah, but not sure Rafa spending all Liverpool's available cash on team strengthening to the detriment of everything else is something to celebrate. Why didn't he say to the owners he could make do for a couple of years in order to keep Liverpool up with the big guns in terms of structure and foundation. Isn't that what Wenger did? Also, what is strengthening the team? What players did he buy that have contributed to the reverance of playing for Liverpool in the long run? Signing mavericks who don't give a toss about the club, even if they are better playes on paper, builds what long-term?

What cash? You have lost me with the first bit.

He did say to the owners (both sets) about the stadium. Look how that turned out. We couldn't afford transfer windows without profit let alone a stadium. I am not sure how stupid owners is being turned into Benitez's fault?

He asked to change the youth set up. Ours was ancient. Now the youth teams and reserve team and first team all play the same way (just like Arsenal), we have good promising talent coming through, we have two of the best youth scouts and one of the best youth coaches in the world pinched right from Barcelona. Is this the kind of structure and foundation you were referring to?

You are missing the point with your last question. He bought what he could afford. Prior to 08/09 his transfer record is pretty hard to criticise. Now ask that same question of Hodgson. (Poulsen 30 Konchesky 29 Cole 29 hmmmm.......)

Glad you posted that, saved me a job.

As for Dalglish not being up to speed with the 'modern game' - just lol.

Makes you wonder what the motivation is for a manager to stay in the employment of stupid owners for so long. Spanish youth coach figures though. Dalglish has achieved much less than Hodgson over the last 10 years but w/e romance ftw.

Maybe, just maybe - he loved the club? lol No? Still cant fathom that one?

Hodgson has proved himself a good coach at small teams. Dalglish achieved more than that by 1986. But w/e, biased opinion ftw.

Haha quality. But it makes you realise how bad the current side is.

Just realised that some of the 'youngsters' might not actually know just how good King Kenny was. Doesn't mean he is or isn't the right man for the job, but interesting.

Coyle has been one of the names mentioned for the long-term job, and he might be a good choice.  But he's not available now, and we need someone to sort the side out until the rest of the season and make sure the likes of Torres is still with us next season. Otherwise the new manager will have an even worse team to inherit than Roy did Wink

Nah, can't fathom that one. I think it's quite possible to love a club and not be in the employment of it. Madness to stick around and watch/preside over the degeneration of something you love imo. Wasn't the crowd about 10k light last home game, why didn't they stick around like Rafa did? Pity those fans don't love the club as much as Rafa eh? During his tenure after spending 100's of millions of his beloved club's money how many players do you think he bought who love the club like he does?

Sorry, should have been more precise - as he has obviously been doing quite a bit technical/scouting stuff for the club. What I mean is that he has not coached for nigh on 20 years and will be behind on current methods. Does he even hold a UEFA badge???

Not saying this is the only way to be successful but now, especially with all the foreigners in the EPL, how many times have you heard of spats with players 'not being able to get on with the managers coaching methods'Huh?

I think Owen Coyle could do a job for you, but then again people said that last year about Hodgson. Theres no doubt about it, its one hell of a task to take on...

Coyle is a great shout imo

You cannot fathom it as you actually know very little about the man. As Camel would say, you're a guesser. He wanted to stick around as we were getting new owners. Pretty simple really - no great "Rafa is a master manipulator" conspiracy with no evidence whatsoever.

The -10k was a clear move to get Hodgson out. It worked. We got our old owners out too. Fans with passion and power see!

At least 8 although a few are no longer with us as we needed to sell to buy as I've mentioned about 88 times before.

Woy settles for £7.5m.

Rafa got it on here for taking less than he was entitled to and donating chunks of it to charities. He was a master manipulator see.

Obviously Woy taking the full entitlement means he loves the club then? I reckon it makes him a priest on a bowl of sugar. Or summat.  idiot idiot idiot idiot idiot
