Babel gone to Hoffenheim apparently...
£5.8M is the fee being banded about, and he'll be on €180,000 a week (that can't be right though, surely?).
Anyway, £5.8M is good. I glad we didn't have to pay more to someone to take him from us.
180k a week sounds like a lot, especially for someone playing at hoffenheim. Average bunderliga salary is around 850k euros a year so he's be well above that.
Although they have a mega rich owner Hoffenheim have one of the strictest pay structures in Germany.

But a lax recruitment process.

Journalist: You've seen some of the reserves this week and some of the youth teams. Liverpool fans are desperate for the next Steven Gerrard or Jamie Carragher, but are the younger sides looking in good health?
I wouldn't go and say there are any kids who played in the Youth Cup against Crystal Palace are going to be first team (yet) but the progress at the Academy in the last year and a half has been absolutely fantastic. That's great credit to Rafa who brought in Pepe Segura, Rodolfo Borrell and Frank McParland. He reorganised the whole Academy and you can see the benefit in the kids now. It's fantastic to see. The reserve team's average age has been drastically reduced. Whether we get them through or not, we'd never put that pressure on them, but we're clearly encouraged by the work that's being done there and it's a work in progress.

I have been working with an Ajax season ticket holder for the last few months - he got a phone call at 15:00 from home stating the deal was done, except medical and the like.
I have never seen a man so crestfallen about a football matter, he was a waste of space for the rest of the day.
Not doubting his class (Suarez that is not my consultant), but will be very interesting to see if his temper/attitude can be reined in, he has quite a reputation as a headcase.
Assume this investment means Kenny will be staying past the end of the season?

They've said that Kenny might not be just a short-term solution. I think that would have all been discussed before Kenny was appointed. But it matters not if Kenny stays or goes, the squad needs to be improved and the long-term plan needs to be central to the recruitment decisions, as well of course of dealing with the immediate issues that need addressing in the squad.

Yeah, it's pretty much the end of any Ajax title challenge for this year

Blackpool have rejected an offer from Liverpool for Charlie Adam. £4m
I think this would be an odd one. Blackpool have everything set up to go through Adam and put two DM's in with him in a three, as in a 4-4-2 he gets over-run
Are Liverpool really going to set up round Adam with Gerrard to fit in too?

I'm undecided on this. We definitely need a CM who can pass and the lad can do that pretty feckin well.

Adam is key to Blackpool as Gerrard, alledgedly, is to Liverpool. Maybe a straight swap?

Adam is a great player...now. He was shit when in scotland. He's the main man at Blackpool and he's a £30mil player for them. They have to be mental to let him go for 4.l

I see there's nothing in the media about Kenny's comment about what a good job Rafa did with the academy.
Doesn't suit the Rafa-bashing sentiment I guess.

Charlie Adam would be perfect for you. Free Gerrard up, get you money out, they couldn't turn down 7/8m.
