Playing a SnG on Pokerroom tonight and i get down to HU.

In the middle of a hand my opponent appears to have timed out,  but he types into chat box saying that he is blocked from making any decisions, but can still see his cards and type in chat box.

Blinds at this time are 400/800 and I only have to raise to win them.

What should i do - 1. Raise every hand double quick and blind him away, or
                          2. Take all my decision time and just call his BB, giving him a fair chance to comeback in and finish our HU not too disadvantaged.

(Ps. This is the first topic I've posted. I normally just lurk and read all the topics but after reading the Baron's post about the newbies not posting enough, I've decided to join in a bit more.  Smiley )

And it always helps to have another Scotsman about the place   thumbs up    Doesn't it Colchester Kev Cheesy

This is a matter of opinion. I don't believe there is any definite right or wrong answer.

Of course, there is nothing in the rules that says you have to wait. If you want to raise every hand, then feel free.

However, I prefer to wait. I don't like winning games in that way, whatever the stake.

If, however, the guy is a blatant idiot and has been bad mouthing the table or soemthing, I wouldn't hesitate in taking the victory ASAP.

I recall Julian Gardener getting some stick in the Ladbrokes $100 rebuy comp when it got HU. He just raised every hand instead of waiting. He didn't half get some criticism from the rail. But, he's within his rights I suppose.

Great post, keep them coming.  Smiley

It's a tough one, if you sit out too long and the blinds go up drastically you could be involved in a lottery by the time he returns. I would give him say till the next blind level, or the one after, to sort it out (and let him know this) and then if it isn't sorted go for it.

I know it's not his fault, but it's not yours either.

Obviously the correct thing is to sit out and wait for support etc, but it is very tempting, anothere way to put it is, what would you want if it happened to you next week???

Ps and a very big welcome to the borad mate, tell us about yourself, ie obviously your scottish, but where from, and where do you play live, if you dont, then do you fancy joining us in the cin cin club glasgow, BTW stay away from the Riverboat, its terrible tourney in there.

I feel a bit guilty now Sad.

I never even thought to sit out as well Embarrassed  I took the maximum time with each betting decision and just called his BB each time and checked it down until eventually he was blinded out. But this still gave him a good 10-15 mins to get back in the game, but he never appeared or typed anything more into the chat box.

Have i breached any "online etiquette" by doing that ?

Snoopy, he had been bad mouthing at the beginning but I wasn't his target,( at least i don't think I was !!)

Thanks for the warm welcome from the nighthawks that are still up Smiley

Dave, I'm from Cumbernauld and a member of the GPS site. For my sins I have played at the riverboat but won't be doing that again!! Shocked
I've been down to Cincins a few times, mostly for the Thursday night tourneys - I've met Rod, Teacake and a few of the others.

Yes, it was the night with that magician, although i managed to miss most of his act Roll Eyes shame !!

I went out that night as we got down to the last two tables and didn't hang about long after.

The first time at Cincins, I played against teacake in a £5 rebuy tourney with about 14 runners, which i managed to win Shocked - were you there that night ?

ok ok youve caught me, he must have sneaked in one night without my driving lol

No i wasnt in that night!

i resuse to play the £5 rebuys they are bingo bingo bingo games!

£20 is your best bet, reasonable stake without a fatal lost to your bankroll, but just enought to keep the Bingo boys at bay!
