ok the summer of sport is upon us so what if............................................ who would you give the spoty 2007 too

and who do you think the public would go for

wiggens wins the TDF
murray wins wimbledon
rose win the open
rooney scores a barrelload of goals single handedly taking england to euro 2008
hamilton wins F1
scotland mange to get past france italy and the ukraine to get to euro 2008 led with XXXXXXXXX leading the way with emphatic displays and goals

or maybe some people past there best but who never quite met there potential final step upto the plate

henman wins wimbledon
monty wins a major
beckham bends it and scores some important goals getting england to 2008
audley gets a world title shot and finally wins

who would you give the spoty too
who out of the above list do you think might succeed in our summer of fun
and who do you think is over hyped

hamilton is a shoe-in..no way he'll lose the SPOTY even if he doesn't win another race this season.

If Henman were to win Wimbledon he would win it, otherwise it will be Hamilton

well betfair have a new market up as SPOTY without hamilton

i aint sure if henman or monty pull off a big shock this year then people might vote for them as hamilton will have another chance
they wont

also wiggins winning the TDF would be huge (he wont win he wont even finish in top 20) but he has a chance of winning the prologe which is being held in london which will capture the publics mind then he has another chance at one of the 2 later time trials with the public all geed up from the prologe then a top 5 for spoty would be achivable

lets not forget there is a rugby wc this year if wilcko gets back and his kicking inspire england to reach semi or final i think the 1.25 being bet on hamilton is looking a bit lean

there is pleny of oppotunities this summer for someone to garner some points with the public towards the spoty

no.

For years the British public have followed Henman every Wimbledon due to the intense speculation that "this year might be it" now if he were to actually pull of the feat all those years of hope will come back into people's minds and he would get the vote for sure. There is nothing that could top it.

Of course it aint going to happen, i say lump on Hamilton.

If Wiggins wins the Tour De France (it ain't going to happen, but if he did), then he should be SPOTY of the year without question.

Yes imo.  Still a minority sport as well.

Hamilton is buying money imo.  Talking of buying money Khan to beat Limond@ 1/10 comes into that category as well.

Haven't U missed some body related to Royal Family getting it? Doing a sport that no one really watches and the human gets the recognition and not the lumbering beast that jumps over the fences. But because it's one of the few sports the BBC can afford to cover these days, when they can advertise the current SPOTY is competing, to try to boost viewing figures.
