Looking forward to it...hopefully it will live up to expectations.  I think a lot will depend on how much Castillo has left in the tank, if he is near his best then it will be a very close fight imo.  However going by his last performance I have my doubts.  Reports have suggested Hatton has looked after himself and didnt balloon in weight after his last fight so hopefully we will see an improved performance from him.  fwiw I think the prices are about right.  Hatton on points for me.

I'm pretty much with you on that.  Has all the potential to be a cracker.  Neither will be doing much running anyway!

I've got Hatton to win in the 10th, with a points win as the saver.

I do have a question though.  Why's it on Setanta and not Sky?

Come on Ricky.

Good match for his style. A proper brawl in prospect.

what I like most about Hatton is how respectfuly he always speaks of his opponents

i like hatton because of this too....he is not another boxer who thinks he can take on the world because hes on a winning streak....even though he can and he is! he is such a great fighter...he would probably do well in UFC too!!

I do have a question though.  Why's it on Setanta and not Sky?

Setanta have been buying up the rights to just about everything that moves recently.  Piss poor quality in comparison to sky though imo.  I'm guessing $$ is the reason for it.

not sure about that. he'd have to put weight on to match the UFC light weights at 155lb. Most boxers do badly against good MMA strikers because they have their front foot too far out and take too many kicks to the front thigh. Rickys stance is much tighter than usual and I think he'd destroy a UFC striker. however most of the talent in UFC 155lb division is in the Wrestling/Ju-Jitsu side and Rickys closer leg position would make him very vulnerable to a take down. on the mat he'd have no chance.

this is probably a better place for this conversation

Yeah, they'll have paid more for it.

It also explains why this thread is the first I've heard about the fight - there's been sod all publicity or buzz about this, when compared to Calzaghe's last fight.

I don't see how Setanta is sustainable in the UK.  They've bought the rights to some of the footy; they've picked out some decent bouts, and probably some other random events.

But the majority of sports fans are going to stick with Sky - and resign themselves to the fact that they're going to miss the odd fight or match.  They're just not going to reach the critical mass they need. I'm certainly not going to sign up just for the Hatton fight.  Not that £15 is extortionate, but just because I can't be arsed.

Hatton on points for me too, he's done things completely differently this time in Vegas compared to January.
He's rented a house away from the strip (he was at Ceasars in Jan), he has been there a lot longer, he flew out several weeks ago and he's training with a good pal of ours in Mathew Macklin who has the same style as Castillo.
I'm gutted i missed this one, all my pals left Wednesday Sad and i keep getting texts describing the weather and basically taking the p**s.
I'll be looking for a live stream of the fight, i'll keep you updated if i find one.
Maybe Nem can help?

Hatton on points.   It is crazy that it is only June and already we have a sports personality of the year set in stone.  Regardless of what Hatton does this year or even Murry destroying Federer at Wimbledon,  Hamilton is already the winner.  I had a feeling that it would be Hatton this year for some reason.
