i think sunderland are going to pick up the bargin of the transfer window when keane signs anderson for £1million if he was playing in the premiership his price would be 4 or 5 million easy he is now 28 and the perfect age for a centre back and a born leader who if not made captain will certainly give his captain alot of help
any other bargin buys this close season?

who? I'm guessing he plays in scotland? I don't like defenders who come to play in the PL from the SPL.... so i'll enjoy seeing him at the Mackams.

Spot on my friend. I am a dons season ticket holder and the boy has been nothing short of a legend for the past few seasons. The only reason we didn't get more is because we're in so much debt any seven figure sum can't be overlooked. who? I'm guessing he plays in scotland? To say because he comes from Scotland and therefore you don't want to see him in the Premier League is ridiculously narrow minded. I can't wait for him to show the Premier League how good he is.

I'd really have liked to see big Russ at Celtic. Feck we have that muppet Pressley Anderson is a far far better player.
I think Roy Keane is assembling a good squad of players who have something to prove, I think Sunderland will avoid relegation under his stewardship!

I think he is pretty limited to be honest. I tend to think he might struggle in the Premiership particularly early on. Most SPL defenders struggle to adapt and if he doesn't hit the ground running then could find himself out the side pretty quickly. Every Aberdeen fan I've spoken to however raves about him so I guess time will tell.

differnece with anderson is he is 28 and has plyed his trade with aberdeen for a decade get better every year
he isnt a kid who has had 3 or 4 good games like we normally sell to the EPL
keane saw him first hand during his time in the SPL and i dont think he is the sort to back a dead horse

Thats a fair point. Always came across as a decent lad so good luck to him.

He's an honest hard working player, out and out defender. No messing just proper defending. With a good complementary partner in central defence i honestly think he'll do good for them.
As you said Keano has experienced him first hand and was marked out of the game by Anderson when Celtic came to Pittodrie.
At least now i have a reasonable ish reason to support a Premiership team.

No its not. I had to endure Jean Alan Boumsong. (It was a tongue in cheek comment - the first one, not that one) Does this bloke play for Scotland then? I'm only going on the basis I thought that the Cardwell (either or both of them) were in the Scotland team and these two aren't Championship quality IMO. (Gary may have come on a little since his Newcastle days, but Stephen definatly hasn't)

anderson is only out of the national team as the guys in possesion of the shirts havent put a foot wrong
anderson was arguably the best defender in the league for last 2 seasons

There are a couple of (potential) bargains already this season IMO.
Viduka on a free - even for a season or two you know you will get goals if not always performances.
Aliadiere for 1.5m seems like good business to me. I've seen a lot more paid for much worse strikers in the past. Even if he scores 8 or 9 goals it's a good buy.
Distin on a free - you wont find many better centre halves in the EPL.
Anyone Wenger signs who is under 22 and never been heard of is likely to be shit hot as well unless he's a keeper.
