Need to cool off before I Diary in detail yesterday's extraordinary media storm I became embroiled in. Social media storm, that is. It stole my entire day.

I really don't know how this Facebook thing works. A "Protest" Page was started, and it was a delicate matter, where I sort of knew - & understood from an insider's position - both sides, but it needed handling discretely.

Somehow, without my knowledge or approval, I was added to the Group, by a friend.

How can that be right?

Someone starts a FB protest page, say, "blondepoker is shite", or "I admire Charlie Sheen", "I support the idiots smashing up London during protest marches", "Rooney is a twat" or whatever, & I become a member of that "Group", without my approval or prior knowledge?

That's just wrong.

I hate all these Online rent-a-mobs, attracting as they do all the reprobates & extremists, & I refuse to be part of them. I have feelings as strong as anyone on this & that, but I'll tread my own path tyvm, let the sheep do their own stunted thinking. If they were but able.

Can't complain, I suppose, for business reasons I choose to use Facebook, so I guess I have to like it or lump it. Guess I have some decisions to make, as ultimately, we are all responsible for our own lives. Those of us that enjoy the luxury of independent thought, anyway.

When people get in a group, they behave so different.

Now, Kylie Minogue.......

I don't know why you give so much weight to opinions through mediums like facebook protest groups. A lot of people don't post after serious contemplation or think about the implications of their words. Their agenda is prob be to make mischief or to have a laugh. People say things are shite or someone is a twat at the drop of a hat these days. People say these things and forget them instantly because there's no substance behind it. If you dwell on the reasoning it's disproportional because there isn't much reasoning behind sitting in your bedroom and calling somebody you don't know on the interweb a gaylord. Giving your considered opinions on matters is the best response imo.

btw if you can wear a feather boa with credibility you are a gay icon.

Nor me, but I find it quite tough to ignore, too. I awoke today to the usual batch of hate mail, & I'm getting used to it, but I can't pretend I enjoy it, either.

A viewer challenged me on last night's Show, "what right have you go to give forth on poker, what do you know, your advice is silly".  He was about 17 I think. I said "well we can't afford Channing or Trickett, Keys or Cody, so you are stuck with me as long as I can keep getting away with it pal". But he trumped me then. "heads up for rollz" he retorted.  He's prepared to risk his school dinner money I guess. I can't risk it.

Feather boa? Would a scarf worn at a jaunty angle do the job? I'm intrigued by this gay icon thing, but I need to learn the difference between gay & gey I think.

Got some nice mail about last night's Show today, too though, but one guy was so impressed he thought I had cheated.

A viewer wrote in to last night's Show, "so go on then, work out what a £20 treble at Evens, 6/4, & 11/8 is".

Jeez, like the 2 times table, if you can't work that out in your head in seconds you have a serious problem. I did it snap-fast, Live, on air, including the "short-cut" mental arithmetic for calculating 11/8.

One note this morning said "give me a brake (groan...) you toser, nobody cud work that out in thier hed, you must have used a caclulator". Sadly, I think he was being serious. Toser indeed.

This is Dave Matthews, the WBA kit man. So what?

He's held the job for fifty years!

Wonder how many changes he has seen in football?

Best Team-talk he ever witnessed? Gary Megson, before the 2002 promotion battle v Palace.

Rightly or wrongly, he has values I really respect.

Leaving aside "caretaker Managers" & the like, anyone know how many WBA Managers have come & gone in those 50 years?

I don't know why you give so much weight to opinions through mediums like facebook protest groups.

My first thought was this also, but have just had a browse through the other forum (no, not 'mumsnet'!), and it's obviously snowballed a bit beyond just a fb group.
Surprised by some of the people who get involved..... people who normally come across as mature, articulate etc...

SkyPoker has made strides forward recently (download software, consistently high standard of guests on live TV show etc...), which probably makes it all the more frustrating, when the negative noise increases still.

Ah well, GL with it anyway.

Off now to do a bit of google-imaging .... very naughty of you to make comments like this...'I had a bit of a shock when I google-imaged her, though. Somehow not quite what I expected.'

Yes, I was surprised, too, but people think different in a group, it's a peculiar psychological thing. Not looked yet today, decided to chill most of today.

Recent progress, yes, but I don't mind the negativity too much, it's par for the course. We all know we have improved every aspect of the Room, the "Community", & 865, & that's immensely satisfying to have been part of. Incredibly long way to go yet, mind, but that's half the fun, trying to build something sustainable from a blank canvas. Yesterday we had our best ever figures (margin) for a Saturday in March, & the trend is relentlessly up. The light nights will now bring about the seasonal downturn, but we are yonkles ahead year on year, with nurture, winback & acquisition graphs all good. It's never going to be Tilt or Stars, but it's coming along quite nicely, bit by bit.

Your new "student" (the one I introduced to you at Luton) is coming along wonderfully, & is immensely grateful for your time & help. Thanks.

I see you are in the last March Viva Las Vegas semi, at 5pm. Couple of other blondes, too - Dr Marbles is AndrewT.  Hope to see you in the Final at 9pm, I'm the Analyst tonight, be cool to cheer you over the line. Or anyone else, obv......

Tonight's Guest Analyst is a former Sky Poker Analyst, in fact, Carlo Citrone. "Pleaseeeee"......

I'm thinking of escaping for a day a week to play a little golf soon, Methuselah will ease me in, I hope, then maybe we can play a little relaxed golf, I think I need to take it up again.

It really did shock me! There must be thousands of Helen C pics around, & I assume the google algorithm promotes to the top the most viewed ones. The figures can't lie, but I hate the thought of it as applied to me, people googling me to ogle over my body.

i did the obv and googled it - i can tell you that several of those shots are "photo shopped" - the more vulgar the more likely being a fair benchmark

however, I guess with Helen being the footy lads icon, she is bound to do the odd "lads mag" shoot which I think is fairly obligatory right of passage nowadays

Oh yes, I don't have any moral position on it, or think it in any way wrong, nor do I "disapprove".

Just - to my mind - a bit misleading, that range of images hardly reflects the Soccer AM girl/lady that most of us like very much for her sharp wit, & laddish football banter.

I doubt if I google-imaged Jeremy Paxton it'd serve up page after page of him in a thong.

Anyway, I can't believe anyone photo-shops images.......

Who is LML and why do people want to bring LML back?

Was it Ariston who was causing the trouble?

I mentioned tonight's VLV Seni-Final, & it included a few blondes, but a late entry seems to have arrived, & 40 minutes in, it's a blonde 1-2.......
