Tikay, how are you feeling about the Main Event? From listening to you on skypoker ive always had the impression you wouldnt end up playing it as its a tad pricey  Smiley With the staking all set, how do you plan to approach it strategy-wise? Really hope you do well, and if you stick to your principles im sure you will

Thanks Dwayne, & others.

Out of time right now, but I WILL reply tomorow.

I gotta go play some LIMIT Stud 8. Yikes. They say "never too old to learn". Thats bollox, trust me.

Now, what were those betting increments on each street?......

We interrupt this thread to bring you some skyscraper construction porn.

http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/photos-from-the-construction-of-the-empire-state

We now return you to the regular broadcasts of whining and nonsense.

Tremendous!

Photo # 19 is the scariest, by far. If the fella on the left sneezes, & takes his foot off that scaffold board, it's goodbye to the fella on the right.

Note, as I'm sure most of you did, that it is all structural steel, rather than reinforced concrete.

Excellent find Andrew. Knew you'd Post something useful eventually.

Tikay do you remember was it 5/6 years ago now when you had your hire car and took a misturn and ended up in the construction site that became the aria.  I forget how long it took you to get the the rio but I'm sure you got to see Aria in a way that most others never will.  A few people died during the construction I recall. Whole thing was so close to not being finished as happens with a lot of Vegas projects. Strange how nobody mentions the boardwalk that was on the site before the aria.

To clarify, Barny is, I think, 57.

Definitely old, that.

The standard of play at poker tables these days is measured by how many "old blokes" are present. Barny must be feeling very smug this morning.

  57 is not old.

Alex mentioned "a middle-aged guy" on his table in one of his recent posts.

What's the over/under on that guy's age?

Heaving on Fremont St last night

2 drinks $7.25, same in Venetian $17.50 - oi oi

You here Glenda?

We could hook up, & do Vegas together. The Train Museum, the concrete beauty of Hoover Dam, that sort of thing, maybe even an ice cream, or sticky bun.

Very nearly got down to Binions for the O8 yesterday as I've honed my mixed game skills playing 8 game on Stars. Quite breathtakingly good at these now :-) In the end I was 8 hrs late for registration so had to give it a miss.

Raincheck for the Hoover dam, in for ice cream if paths cross :-)

No it's fine as a description.

Just amusing how one's perception changes with the march of time.

Young =<25
Late twenties 25-30

Middle Aged 40-X
Old X-dead

Not divulging X! Though you could set a line and I could say who wins!

This Limit Stud O8 is incred. I had forgotten how much fun it was, and all the "ante", and "complete" stuff.

Scooped one pot with a pair of twos. We were three way, so 21 cards in play between three players, and my missed low, pair of deuces were the nuts.

Some right sorts playing it, and everyone is chuntering about how bad they are running.

We got to showdown in one hand, 2 players, both refused to show first. One claimed last aggressor had to show, the other said highest card shows. First guy then says, nah, only last aggressor if it is on 6th street, not on 7th.

Both refuse to yield, Floor is called. Floor rules, old geezer refuses to comply, and it kicks off. Eventually he gets ejected from the comp, and is asked to leave the room. He refuses, Security is called.

It gets nasty now, he tries to smack the guard (but misses and falls over) then he claims security hit him. He is taken away, frothing at the mouth, still claiming the other guy has to show.

Now they have a problem, as neither hand has been shown yet. Ejected man had the best hand.

Don't be messing with old guys, right? Stubborn, like Tom.

Have you thought about playing a no limit event before the main event? The golden nugget has an extremely god structure on the third. Binions tomorow also decent.
