After Pleno said "punish him" I pre-determined I would make a play against our man, and soon enough it was walked to us both in the blinds.
I have 4 unconnected spanners, no suits, but I raise it up from the small. As expected, he called.
Now I am hoping for a co-ordinated or connected flop.
It came......
I check, he bets, I give a little dwell before calling.
I check the 4th diamond on the turn, he checks behind. Yes, I think I have got him.
The river is a 5th diamond, and I bet just over half the pot with my air. He folds.
Yayyyyyyy.
He had 2 pair, too.
We discussed it all later, all in good heart, and I'm the table ledge now.
Meanwhile, Dylan described an amazing play Pleno just made, but I need to check with Pleno that is not "private" before mentioning it in detail.

That apart, it is a bit uphill, totally card dead, & we have dribbled back to 7,600 @ 109-200.
Really had no material, and the table is very tough, or so it seems so to me.
Will wait until next level (level 5) to see if I can find some material, if not, time to dance.

I button raised with A-Q-9-3 (ss) and Mr Aggro, two to my left, raises again, and he is quite short stacked.
I think for an age, and if my Q was a K I probably go with it, but I relectantly fold.
He shows me two red aces.
Phew.

I check, fella makes it 2,000, I move all in on him.
He calls.
He has an ace, and is wrapped round the 7-5.

Turn and river are both blanks, and I am right back in this with 13,000.
Really pleased with that.
Think I will treat myself to a celebration wee now.

That's Level 4 complete, 20 minute break now.
A satisfactory start.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

(I chatted with Pleno in the break and he said I can mention that hand).
Apparently you had A-Q and somehow bullied a chap off Aces?
Pleno is on an adjacent table, as are Ross Boatman, Andy Black, and Vanessa Selbst. Not all on the same table, though.

Ha. I have played so much O8 and Big O I have to remind myself when I get O8 hands not to take off.
Seats 2, 5, 6 and 9 are all useful, especially 5 and 9. No idea who 9 is, but he is handy.

Photos? And we can get background checks on them lol
If any are baldy Norwegians it will likely be jesper hougaard aka kipsterdk, I notice he is in the field. Don't think he has played any events yet this year he must just have arrived in vegas for the rest of the series.
10 minutes till late reg closed?
Edit: probably longer I am not allowing for the breaks...

Seat 9 busted in a huge 3 way affair, which has helped matters.
Late reg closes during the dinner break, which is in 50 minutes time. (1.50am UK)
