Yes Dewi  they are ok quite a good structure until about 5 hours in then same as any tourney the blinds jump quickly
I managed 140/600 weds some tables are ok others are madness as per norm it's a big prize pool tho for $235
A mate managed to chop the first one for $6 k so he thinks he's the new " kid poker " lol
He had jj v Kk
J9 button v ace 9 sb
Aj v 55
Each time hitting a jack
So there's a bit of skill involved too
I still prefer downtown tourneys
Slightly softer n better structure
I'm home Monday then back 16 th to 6 th July
Thoroughly enjoying it all mate

I tried fast n loose on Tuesday it didn't work lol I was out by 5 pm k9 v 33
Then I slowed down and was pleased how much further I got
So I think tight is right early doors as some players can't / won't fold any 2

Yeah I had a read about the tourneys after I posted and it backs up exactly what you say Tony.

Plays decent early and then in the later stages turns into a shove fest so that they can get it finished in the early hours.

It can be frustrating when the table just doesn't fold anything early and you are card dead and cannot get into the tourney. The Little One For One Drop was like that last year for me. There was no version of the table not going to showdown every hand so you simply needed to have the goods...

Hope the slower approach works well for you in any more you play Tony!

Regarding the tablets for sleeping etc...

The tablets may be effective, as may having a 'nightcap', but a few tips that may help without medication are...

Get out in the daylight when you arrive, take in lots of sunshine. You body clock or 'circadian rhythms' are basically having to deal with a complete reversal when you arrive in Vegas. The exposure to the sunlight helps to reset this more quickly and let your brain learn when the 'new daytime' is.

Obviously the other side of that coin... Try and keep your environment very dark at night. Melatonin hormone production is triggered by reduced light so even for example when brushing your teeth before bed... avoid overly bright bathrooms just before going to sleep as obviously this will trigger a reduction in natural Melatonin production.

Cutting out the stimulants after teatime will also help (no chance of me doing that).

If you can get the sleep cycles working nicely it can massively help the poker. Cognitive performance is hugely increased if we are sleeping properly and drastically decreased if we are sleep deprived. Being sleep deprived has been reported to affect cognitive performance as much as having a reasonable intake of alcohol.

I guess I took in more than I realised when doodling bored up at the back of the psychology lectures Smiley

Cheers slept from 530/6 Pm till 230am - yeah I know early to bed on a Friday in Vegas !!!
Then managed to go back to sleep till 0715
Totally agree with the light explanation a tiny chink of sunrise shone through a gap in the curtains yesterday I was instantly awake
I doubt many people get more sunlight theman me I'm out by the pool for 8 am most days having had a Starbucks n regged for my games
Cheers

Good Morning,

I've sent the princely sum of £114.15 over this morning. Thanks again for letting me be a small part of your Vegas adventure.

Looking forward to reading 'Scoopio' over my lunchtime coffee.

Best wishes,

Safely received, thanks Ky.

I shall spare you the grisly details, but I've had a few problems since arriving. Nothing too onerous, & not health related, but it's messed with my schedule a tad.

Anyway, I was due to meet Sue & Dave Norsden on Saturday, but Gill was a little unwell & I had a few issues to untangle, so I was unable to meet them. I sent hem a text on Sunday suggesting we meet up later that day, but they had gone home by then. Whoops, sorry Dave.

They had a gift for me, which they had left with the bellhop bloke at The Rio. (Why is he called a "bellhop"?).

I went & collected it this morning.

My oh my - I think you'll all agree, presents & gifts don't come better than this.

Many thanks to Sue & Dave.

I'll guess that your bank details are still the same, so will ship the £114 over now.
