Good luck Tony. I am missing this year, but will be at Goliath.
Say hello to Rob, hope one of you brings home the bracelet and I can carry it on next year. Would love to be at the mixed O8 tomorrow., one of my favourites.

He's a horribly abrasive & small-minded man who dislikes me, & the feeling is distinctly mutual. And I know it will soon kick off between us, despite my best intentions not to get involved in any bad blood at the table. He's the sort who can start an argument in an empty room & we have a lot of history.
Early doors & we play a small pot which is checked down, it's a chop & the Dealer splits the pot.
3 hands later he suddenly complains that the Dealer short-changed him by 100 chips. Imagine starting an argument over 100 chips....
I have no idea if he's right or wrong, nor does anyone else, but he's getting very agitated now. I cba with all this & toss him a 100 chip across the table with a bit of a cutting comment, "there you go sunshine, happy now?" sort of thing. He gives me the mother of all dead eyes & I know trouble is brewing...
But not a problem, as he tilts off his entire stack the very next hand with an inexplicably poor play & he's history. I just about resist the temptation to give him a send-off.
Love this
I hate having nonsense at the table in cash games, but in tournaments I find it entertaining especially when they tilt it off afterwards.
You’re still better than me in mtts , I’m 0/3 and -3100 so far.
Was great to see you though, and you can’t escape me at WSOP as I’ll look up your table number to say hi .
Hopefully get time for proper catch up rather than 30 seconds at breaks !
Catch you Monday if not before I think - WSOP O8 mix deffo my favourite one of the trip
Hi Rob,
Yeah, see you Monday. I'm playing a $240 Big O at Orleans tonight, too small for you, 6pm kick off, next stop the WSOP Omaha Mix tomorrow.
I went across to WSOP @ Paris last night as I accidentally discovered that I needed to get "re-verified". What a faff. I was fully verified last year so no idea why I needed to do it again.
Walked into the Registration Room & there's 12 staff sat at computer stations assisting folks to get verified. They are open 22 hours per day, I guess 3 shifts, so imagine the cost of that.
My bloke was dead helpful, & knew what he was doing, & it still took 45 minutes. Had to give him everything except my Blood Type.
I really don't understand why we have to jump through so many hoops to play a WSOP event. We can walk into Venetian, Wynn, Bellagio, Aria, GN etc etc with a Rewards Card, pay in, & that's that, don't even need ID. What's so different about a WSOP event?
Meh.
And then I had to pay $25 to exit the Car Park. Luckily, it's only $20 Monday - Friday.
See you tomorrow. And hopefully the next day too....
PS - I bumped into the (self-styled) "PLO Professor" last night, Dear God, please don't be drawn on his table tomorrow. He's less humble than Trump.

Thanks David, will pass on your comments to Rob though I imagine he'll see it. Me winning a bracelet would be like Snow Knight winning the Derby, but as you know, Rob has a real chance.
Not sure about next year, will need the Gods to smile on me. Fingers crossed see you at Goliath though. Really enjoyed that last year.
Tomorrow - Omaha Mix (O8, PLO8 & Big O) is a fabulous affair, as is the Big O. Hopefully things don't go wrong, but would deffo consider a 2nd bullet. The Big O has TWO opening flights, so no 2nd Bullet needed there but would consider playing both flights if push came to shove.
You still running 1k per day, plus Park Runs? Winning the battle of the scales?
PS - Oh, when we were in Portugal golfing earlier this month, with, amongst others "typhoon13" (Trevor Pearson) & the twat James Moult, we heard a Cuckoo. Also heard a nightingale, but failed to see either.

Thanks Simon.
Really looking forward to it. I'm staying at Orleans, so just jump in the Lift & I'm there. 6pm start (Vegas time).
9 years? Fingers crossed for you next year. You'll recognize all the Dealers & Floor, nothing has changed.
Health stable? Fingers crossed for you.

Been in bed all morning with Vegas Aircon chest & sniffles.
Day 2, yesterday, was that little $200 O8 @ South Point. Nothing to report really. 20k starting & a turbo structure, early doors the cards were kind, ran up a decent stack, then the cards turned & barely won a hand after 2nd break, eventually departing about 23rd of ~100 or so. Good fun though.
Today is Day 3, $240 Big O here at Orleans tonight, 6pm.

apropos nothing, but I just stumbled across this image. Look at the state of those three. And yes, one of them is wearing a genuine MAGA hat.

I am the official cuckoo listener this year. Went for a DofE practice walk with my youngest round Grafham Water. Heard one there too, so 3 different places, and again at parkrun last week. Don't recommend Grafham in 32 degree heat, but have got myself a splendid sun hat.
Am still running at 1km a day, was exact yesterday, and still 85.x kg on the scales. I don't know how many weeks in a row I have done parkrun now. I know I miss one in 2 weeks as going to the tennis. Kind of glad really, it is getting a bit more gruelling in the heat, so have deliberately slowed down.
Also made my ice hockey debut at age 59 on Friday. I was the most shit there by a margin, but didn't fall over. Was fun, but kind of terrifying.

After all these years, I still gawp at the sheer size & scale of Vegas, & especially the Casinos.
If you've not been to Vegas I doubt you've heard of South Point Casino (except betting experts), where I was yesterday, and it's 12 miles out of town on the I-15, beyond which there's nothing but desert for 250 miles until LA.
Try & grasp the scale of these....
South Point, 2,163 rooms, 3,000 car park spaces
The Orleans, 1,886 rooms, 2,650 car park spaces
Paris, 3,672 rooms, 3,800 car park spaces
Venetian Resort (including Palazzo), 7,264 rooms, 8,709 car park spaces.
And for context, largest Hotel in the UK....
Royal National, 1,630 rooms, 120 car park spaces
Vegas is BIG.

Probably mentioned it before, but my eldest has been playing for 4 or 5 years. At the end of the season they have a team Vs Dads/friends/partners game. She has asked before, but this was her last season as she'll be at University..
So I was on the ice when a game was going on, and we won despite me. I even hit the puck, well more it hit me. Most importantly, I didn't fall and changed shifts quickly enough.
They gave me player of the tournament, clearly referencing the kid getting a primary school medal for finishing last in the egg and spoon race. I now have a pair of skates and at least 3 years to work out how to use them. Alternatively, I can now retire unbeaten.
And I did get in.at 1 am on Friday and still do parkrun; and didn't lose a penny playing poker on Friday night. All the positives.

You are a braver man than me David.
Hopefully your Daughter was proud of your efforts.
What Uni is she going to, & to study/read what?

Day 3 was the $240 Big O at Orleans at 6pm last night.
Had a good deep run before departing in around 57/266. Nothing special to report, all standard stuff. There were 36 paid so I had my eye on the first cash of the trip but with 60 odd left I got quartered in a 240,000 pot, & then went for the quick bounceback but ran into what became nut nut.

Was 100% sure it was a scammy thing, so never pressed "OK", but a quick google appeared to confirm it was genuine.
