My thoughts are with you and your family.

Your daughter sounds like a young woman with enough perspective to put us all to shame. I'm sure with her kind of positive attitude, she will stay well and get through her treatments fine. Get her on that golf course in her ping gear and tell her good luck if she manages to play  thumbs up

It really does bring things back into perspective.....We realise how small and inconsequential our minor worries are....

I hope Kenda (beautiful name) gets better, and she takes down the golf...

Thank you all again.  Kendra is 17.  I have decided to further this story, because she is home for the weekend before chemo starts on Monday.

I won my seat to this years world series, unfortunately due to on going surgery I was unable to fly.  Kendra started my poker interest after my husband left 3 years ago ish, at the time my elderly grandmother lived with me and getting out was difficult.  After Nan died the poker continued.

Kendra is going to go back to college after Christmas, subject to the college agreeing to her being home for the first term, she feels she will be able to cope using the internet etc to put in her assignments.

Kendra will be 21 the year I am 40 and due to the Betfred womans tourney my mum is learning the difference between a prile and a run through.  We will be  going to vegas in 4 years all of us to play the world series if it still exists.

Portfolio is looking after us all and doing a very good job although he has drawn the line at the nurses uniform.

Medicine has advanced somewhat since Kendra was 10, which was the first time she was diagnosed and had nephritis in her kidneys.  The Chemo is done 2 weekly to decrease the side effects and hopefully after Monday we will know how poorly it will make her or not.  Last time she was very ill lost her hair and became covered in ulcers amongst other things.

Obviously at this moment our chats are very deep but this line stuck with me yesterday.

Mum,  you never know whats going on in peoples lives and whoever is running things upstairs will only heap on us what we can deal with, even the people who appear to be sailing through life will have a story.

Sorry after posting realized Porty was logged in and not me Paula

Whatever about all the medical treatments...the mind needs to be right or it's a waste of time.  Sounds like she's right where she needs to be in the mindset, so hang in there.  Will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.  xoxoxo

Kendra has learnt well from her Mum, who's led the way in the bravery stakes already.

It's not what cards we are dealt that matters, (we can't change that) it's how we play them.

That is probably the most profound statement ever made on blonde.

Good luck Paula.

Paula,

I hope everything turns out for the better in regards of your daughter. You are a lovely lady from the encounters I have had with you in the past.

And if you need pens just ask.

A lady drove from the Wirral today to visit Kendra, I dont have much to do with Kendras golf thats my dads job.

The lady was head of the Cheshire Girls Golf association.  I spent an hour or so talking with her and how kind, strong, determined and lovely my daughter is.  How the whole of the County was praying for her healthy return.

I was brought up as a forced Christian and my beliefs changed years ago.   When nursing my elderly grandmother, I would read ppls tarot cards in the conservatory.  Often ppl come in groups and so whilst waiting ppl would talk to my nan who would tell them it was a load of rubbish.

Kendra when asked will tell you she has no religion.  But the thought of lots of ppl asking whoever, all the blonde friends included in this asking for whoever is up there to give my daughter a break, made me smile.  The planners up there will get so sick of the nagging and give her a break.

Kendra wants to defend her junior championship title at Wychewood Park, Cheshire on Thursday.  She will tee off whether she finishes or not well we will see if the nagging works and Ill let you all know.
