Be careful of the Olympus range around that price, they have some nice cameras but some have a screen only and no view finder. In many light conditions the screen is difficult to see properly and not having a view finder is very annoying!

I have a Canon Digital IXUS iZoom, small enough to carry in your pocket all the time (about the size of a packet of 10 kingsize cigs), good battery life (rechargeable) and excellent pictures. Got mine, brand new, off ebay for a bit less that £100.

Just bought the missus an Ixus 850 from ebay.  It's the US version (SD800) but the same camera.  £170ish for the camera, memory card, spare battery and some other bits.  Would be a bit worried about it being the US version etc but he does have a whopping 294,000 feedback!

Just waiting for it to arrive
