Eurovox is a type of modded box. There are 5ish popular ones. Eurovox is probably the most common.
They rarley turn the feeds off. Sometimes they do. A trick that a lot of people do if they don't have an active feed it sign up then cancel within 30 days and they usually don't turn the feed off again. Or some people sign up the the basic package, which guarantees a feed.
I had a mate who worked for telewest switch mine on therefore i have no account with them
Got a box for £20 and cut the feedback, takes 5 minutes.
i knew someone that sold the goldcards for £10 but he soon stopped updating them so i got a programmer and did my own till i discovered the purple cards which auto update when telewest zap em.
5 years of totally free cable

Right. Got my Eurovox today. Got it from ebay for £99 delivered.
It had the firmware preinstalled.
But when I plugged it in, it didn't work. So I phoned Rich - and he helped me get it sorted. I had to change some rate or something to one that would suit the ntl network that I'm on (before it became
Virgi
n
). Once that was done - sorted! More info here:
http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/9329-eurovox-tutorials.html#post28455
if anyone buys one.
To check it was working, I selected a channel at random, and found LFCTV - and watched the end of the first 4-3 against Newcastle!
Anyway, I owe Rich a beer and I'm a happy bunny.

Looks like Virgin Media are upping their efforts to prevent people accessing TV via Eurovoxs or other similar boxes.
They are changing codes on a daily basis (if not more frequently), and it requires the user to enter some keys to access the scrambled channels.
If you have one, you can find the
instructions about what to do here
.
It looks as though there's a new set of codes required for ntl from this morning again, so it loks as though I'll be entering the new codes when I get home. Only takes a few minutes, so no biggy.

Telewest went thru the process of reencoding daily a few years back, though then i had to reprogram the chip on the card!

Heard on local radio 5 men arrested after raids by police and
Virgi
n
officials. Getting done for copyright infringement and modifying boxes, I'll see if I can find a link.

Does it matter?
You can legally sell them as far as i know but not legally use them.

Just wondering. You can buy and sell the Eurovox legally, but you can't buy or sell modified virgin boxes.
Using any of them to obtain cable channels without paying is illegal.
