APAT Announces Launch Of Poker Academy
London, November 1st, 2007 – The APAT Poker Association & Tour today announced the launch of APAT Academy, an initiative designed to improve the playing ability of APAT members.
APAT Academy will offer players access to intensive live tuition from professional instructors and online tuition from world leading service provider CardRunners, in addition to a library of strategy articles from both CardRunners and PokerPlayer magazine.
Live tuition will be offered over a single day and hosted at leading licensed UK casinos. Each training day will cater for up to 20 players at a cost of £99 per player. Instructors will cover topics such as multi-table tournament play in early, middle and late stages, game selection, bankroll management and the importance of psychology and tells at the poker table.
In addition, each Academy Live day will feature a masterclass run by a well known professional player, sharing insights into their playing style, followed by an in-depth question and answer session. Leading English professional; and recent European Poker Tour and Grosvenor UK Poker Tour winner,
Julian Thew will run the first masterclass.
Several exclusive CardRunners online tuition videos will be available free to APAT members. In addition, APAT National Champions will each receive free one-on-one tuition from CardRunners lead instructors, while the top twenty players in the APAT rankings will each receive a free two month CardRunners membership. CardRunners will also provide exclusive strategy articles to PokerPlayer magazine, with supporting training videos available through the APAT Academy website at
