Dave Colclough just won a big pot against Marc Goodwin. Allegedly they got in on the flop, with Dave holding 10 outs which he hit...

"Just because you're blonde updaters, don't do him any favours!" said Marc. "Tell it how it is - don't pull your punches!"

Here is a pictorial representation of what Marc was saying...

"Dave is a ...."

This is how the hand played out. DC raised to 20k and Marc called.

The flop came down

DC bet out 25k, and Marc moved allin. Dave called showing and Marc the nut flush draw with As ...

The turn was the and the river made the nut straight for Dave, winning a monster pot, likely to have been in the 400k region with 1 million chips in play...

Marc "FFS you're so lucky"

Dave, with a broad grin....."I had so many outs! Move the trophy over here a bit!" and the trophy is passed towards his bulging stack...

In Marc Goodwin raises and Martyn Cavanagh moves over the top allin. Dave Colclough moves in behind him.

Marc folds, leaving Dave showing A-Q and Martyn showing T-T.

The flop came with an Ace and one more Ace on the river gave Dave Colclough trips, a big pot, a big smile and means...

Martyn Cavanagh is OUT, eliminated in 4th place, winning £6,000
.

A few hands later, Marc and Dave get it in preflop. Marc is holding 7-7 and Dave the dominating 8-8.

Board - 9-9-3-3-uh-oh-7!

"You don't realise how many outs I had" says Marc, needling Dave by mimicking his defence for calling with his draw earlier!

"Now pass me that trophy!"

Short stacked after Marc's got there, Dave Colclough now raised allin with , only to find Marc Goodwin with Aces for the forty seventh time.

No shocks on the flop meant we lose El Blondie.

Dave Colclough is OUT, eliminated in 3rd place, winning £8,260

Dave continues his excellent run, with yet another strong finish and decent payday. Good job sir.

So that left Marc and Paul Jackson heads up playing for the trophy.

They swapped a few chips before the much shorter stacked Paul moved allin, receiving an instant call from Marc, who found a big pair once more in J-J. Paul was less well equipped for battle though, holding the inferior and dominated .

A flop of gave hm some hope, and a and Two Diamonds on the river sealed the outdraw, doubling him up..."I feel deflated" said Marc. "Need to get my wind back up..."

A few more pots were played with Marc making a small inroad into Paul's stack before Marc raised and Paul moved allin. Marc called quickly, and Paul proudly showed off his , but his smile disappeared as Marc tabled

A quite amazing flop came. First card was the ....swiftly followed by the.... !

Both players had flopped a set in the first two cards, which was bad news for Actionjack as he now only had one out. The rest of the board didn't improve either player, meaning Marc's set of sixes were good for the pot, which meant...

Paul Jackson is OUT, eliminated in 2nd place, winning £14,180

A great performance from Actionjack, hanging in right to the finish. Top plodding!

And this means...

Marc Goodwin is the CHAMPION of the Midlands Masters £750 double chance freezeout, winning £23,210 and the lovely precious trophy
!

Excellent work, very well played, and no mean feat despatching a very strong field. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Well played everyone who took part. Dana would like to take this opportunity to apologise as her connection has been down for the last hour. She has some superb photos to share with you which we will post in due course once we have access to a connection that works...

For now though, we'd like to thank you for joining us on this epic voyage to the final and the trophy! It's been great fun and we have had a great time but for now

and I'll see you soon, as will the wonderful Dana.

BYEEE!!!!!

The final is playing out at a relatively slow pace...

Every so often the short stacked Mickey pushes (as he did a moment ago) and he is either called and doubles up....or everyone passes and he collects the blinds( as he did a moment ago)

Dave Colclough stood up from the table in frustration "Everyone's too good! We need someone to crack up!"

It's funny, there are similarities with the Bristol final of a few weeks ago, which had an ultra strong final table, which led to play being somewhat slow and tiring due to the lack of errors of the players...

Here is similar, although there is quite a lot of banter and micky taking happening, to keep everyone awake.

Just as a period of calm seemed to prevail, Mickey Wernick is ALLIN once again...

He had and went searching for a double up but ran into As.

The flop seemed like it had killed him, once his opponent hit a set on a board but the turn gave him hope and outs in the form of a flush draw....

..BUT the river bricked out, meaning...

Mickey Wernick is OUT, eliminated in 9th spot, winning £1,610

Well played Mickey...another final table appearance for the worm of poker

Yes yes, apologies, the wifi I'd been leeching off for two days decided to throw me off about half an hour before the end of the tournament, which was just fantastic. So here you are:
