I am lucky enough to be in St Kitts at the moment for the Caribbean Poker Classic.
I came on Monday morning and arrived in St Kitts about 6pm local time. Went to my room had a shower and change and came down for the reception meeting where there was free food and drink

.
Didn't really do a great deal on Monday played a $100 Sit n Go (finished 5th) and that was about it. Earlyish night ready for some poker on Tuesday.
Tuesday was the $200 freezeout starting at 2pm. At about 2.07pm I was out. We only started with 2000 chips, I had lost 350 with AQ when I was outflopped/outplayed? and the blinds had passed me so I was down to 1600 when I picked up KK. There was a raise before me to 125 and I re raised to 350 and he called the

looked like a fairly good flop so I fired out 650 of my remaining 1250 only for him to RR me all in for my last 600, I couldn't get away from it and he turned over 44 so that was that.
I managed to win a SnG and come 3rd in another for a bit of profit on the night so not so bad after all.
Yesterday was the $300 freezeout, and I was confident of lasting longer than I did in the $200. I got of to a great start building my 3000 starting stack upto nearly 5000. I had quite a nice starting table but unfortunately the guy to my left got knocked out and a very aggressive Scandi took his place and a few of my chips.
I didn't seem to matter what I did I couldn't get anything through him and at the break I was back to my starting stack.
I came back from the break about 7 or 8 Min's late and 1st hand back I pick up AA. There was a raise in front of me so I RR unfortunately the guy folded. Never mind within 10 mins or so I picked them up again this time the BB had KK and I took him out and got back upto about 5700. This was to be where I peaked, soon I was back on about 3000 and in the BB. I had already decided that if there was a raise from late postion I was going to push back at them. I thought that this was a better option than maybe raising in postion as I had mad scandi to my left and a short stack of about 1800 2 to my left.
The Cutoff raised to 1000 blinds at 150/300 with a 50 ante. Like I said I had already decided to push back with any 2, I look down at A8 and shove. He thought for ages I thought he was going to fold when he eventually said call and he flipped pocket Jacks, I missed my 3 outer and was out in around 50ish.
Today was a different day though I had 12 hours sleep last night, a relaxing swim and lie in the sun and felt ready to go for the $400 freezeout. 4000 starting chips today. I felt confident, aggressive and ready to go. I decided I wanted to play a few early pots and did. I won a few chips early on and had a good feeling. I had a great seat draw with a player who openly admitted he doesn't play much to my right and the owner of the complex to my left who just plays for a bit of fun.
I then played out the hand that cost me most of my chips, maybe I didn't need to be as aggressive as I was I called a raise with

and saw a flop of

. Maybe I need to slow down with these big draws. There were 3 others in the pot so I fired 600 into about 1000 pot 2 fold the other guy makes it 1200. I felt I could get most hands to fold in this spot quite early in the comp so I set him all in. I didn't really mind if he called I had 15 outs and he did call, which to be honest I was surprised and he flipped 55 for a set, I missed all my outs and was short stack. I was left with about 600 which I managed to double up with A10 v QQ. I went back down to 800 after I played a hand and the blinds went through me and I pushed them in with

I got called by

. Flop was

so I had another massive draw, this time I missed my 18 outs and was gone.
Tomorrow is the Main Event $6000 buy in with 15000 starting chips and a 50 min clock. I am hoping for a nice long day of poker. 12pm start and I still hope to be playing at 12am.
Just on a side note, whilst playing today the strangest thing happened we had an earthquake and not a particularly small one either which lasted for about 90secs to 2 mins. Quite a weird thing nobody really seemed to know what to do. The hotel which is a massive complex was shaking quite alot. Fortunately it passed with no probs.
I think I'm going to have another dip in the pool in a min as it is lovely and hot over here.
Catch you later.
