Dave Colclough is OUT. He pushed with Q-6 but was called by Mark Friedman's Kings which triumphed on an A-J-4-6-5 board. Dave OUT in 12th place winning £4,800.

El Blondie's exit was rather out of the blue and awoke me from a momentary ringside slumber. I assume Mark Friedman had limped with many marginal hands previously, because after Paul Moss made up the small blind, the ol' Colclough eyes darted around manically before he announced all-in for what looked like over 100k. Naturally, Mark called quicker than Linford Christie on forward wind with the second nuts.

On their backs time, and Mark was slightly in front with against Dave's .

The Flop was an uneventful one, but the gave the blonde one a tiny glimmer of a chance until the River scuppered any hopes he may have had.

El Blondie seemed gentlemanly in defeat, slightly dumbfounded, but still happy to shake the hands of his foes.

why would Dave be slightly dumbfounded?

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Lol ... funny my mother is/was just on the phone talking to me about these ... so when i got to the end i see your request...

ok, here goes ... the exit hand
I had played with mark F for several hours. To thar point he had limped with marginal hands and raise good hands, simple as that. he had just played the previous 4 hands consecutively. he had all the chips and was very active. He was also calling all pre flop raise of 30, 35k.
The evidence to this point was that he always raised when he had anything half decent.
Paul Moss had just made up the small blind. he was generally playing a tight game. No way could he call an all-in move.
Mark limped, Paul made up the SB. I was BB. We are six handed I have 120k and I am looking at a pot of 41k. I cant raise a normal steal of about 40k. I will definately get called from mark with any hand.
We are also playing 6 handed at this point and it is costing at least 23k every 6 hands. Its fast, furious and you have to make moves. This move would work 95% of the time I feel.
however, Mark had laid a trapo and I fell right into it. No excuses. Well played Mark.... I blame Foxy for the earlier gift  stirthepot

I wasnt really dumfounded. It was more of a matter of being shattered.
I had started like a whirlwind. Played my absolute best A+ game. Somehow moved from 40k to 170k without hardly showing a hand.
...then Ian Frazer arrived... and I picked up my first major hand.
KK v Frasers AK I get his whole 37k in preflop ... 75k pot ... he spikes an ace
two hands later
i pick up KK v Ian's AK , rais, re-raise, all-in (his final call is for 55k with AK)
he spikes an ace and wins a 150k from me
I am devastated down to 40k
Build all back up again to 150k
lose a coin flip
Back down to 40k
Nurse it for an hour and then built it back up
lose a coin flip
build it back up to 180k
beginning to get blinded away as we get short handed
bang fall into Marks trap
... as somebody would say ... it was emotional

 bad beat yawn

Thanks for the comment Dave, I sensed you had to have been playing his tendencies and had some back history with him

Hard luck, but great effort to get so close

I thought this would have been the case, which is why I made the assumption that Mark had been limping a lot. I used the word 'dumbfounded' in terms of being shocked/amazed, which, by the sounds of it, you were when you saw that he actually had a hand.
