Last night when Stacey took Reece home after us having tea, she went to put him on his TPN and it hurt him when she flushed his line but no swelling. The Vamin ran through OK too but I told her to keep a close eye on his left upper chest area which she did, alas,  later on it started to swell so she got him off the machines and straight to the local hospital. This is a sign that his line has moved and the fluid is not going into his veins correctly. Luckily, after tests during the night it has shown that none has gone onto his lungs but just dispersed, so he was allowed home at 2am but to go to Manchester most likely today or as soon as they have room for him. As long as we do no use the line it will be fine but obv this means that he can not have TPN.  Antonino is still on leave and we can not really afford to wait as yesterday his weight was still only 13.5 kg, but he is eating like a horse at the minute. We do not want his weight to drop, which it will rapidly,  and him start to go off his food again. Also this means the obvious too that more surgery is imminent, like previous lines it was never too much of a big deal but now as we all know his veins are poor and he only has 2 main ones they can use. We anticipated problems using the arm, but thought we were getting there.

Like a fool that I am I have to wonder whether the school making him do push ups yesterday in PE helped at all. But what is done is done so back we go 3 steps again. When will it ever be 3 steps forward and just the one back?.

Still at home and waiting for the registrar to get in touch with Antonino who is in Barcelona. As long as he doesn't dehydrate he will be fine at home.
