Thanks all. Tom too early to tell, his surgeon has performed about 6 of the STEP operations and on less complex cases than Reece, as it is relatively new to the UK, not new as in known about but not performed. It comes from the one i tracked down in Boston years back. He said from the surgery side he was pleased but added lets wait and see now. He said it was now where near as straight for as thought it would be. He is so brave that he even watched parts of a movie last night.

Hard day for the hero, still nil by mouth so just wetting lips. Epidural only part working on one sude so extra pain relief now going in.and moving him slightly to one side every so often to stop pressure sores but it is heart brealing to watch because you just feel so useless. Very noisy on the ward so even with all the drugs he cant seem to drift off with the telly from the next bed being right next to his curtain. The itching has started so that isnt hrlping either but waiting on meds to help stop it a little. Ignore typo errors on tablet.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Thanks Maureen. Just try to remember that if anyone can cope, he can. He's an expert at dealing with the aftermath of operations, he's been doing it for years. More news as soon as you get it please. xx

Just home, quick update, remains nil by mouth with review tomorrow. Started some more pain killers and anti itch med through his line. Very tired and in a lot of pain but so brave that when they came to change sheets due to epidural leaking he insisted us women left the curtain so that he could get on with it with his Grandad present. The staff have said how very brave and independent he is. He is starting to show pressure sore but is only allowed to be moved slightly to the left then the right to keep the bowel as relaxed as possible for now.
