I've held out for the overnight chip counts, but unfortunately, I must admit defeat and grab my forty winks as they have yet to arrive in my inbox. Tapping the old memory cells momentarily, I recall the likes of Andrew Teng, Julian Thew and a few others flying the flag for Britain, but it's slim pickings at the moment, our young American friends seemingly dominating the event right from the off.

Along the way, we lost top name pro's such as Daniel Negreanu, Humberto Brenes and Kathy Liebert, but Barry Greenstein is still plugging away, as is fellow PokerStars.com sponsored pro Bertrand Grospellier, the former pro gamer and resident Starcraft expert rumoured to be 2nd in chips behind Eric 'Rizen' Lynch.

As always, if there are any players that you wish us to keep an eye on, please do get those requests in as early as possible so we can identify them before the little rascals move seats. I have a feeling that the structure will be quite fast tomorrow, so I very much doubt anyone will be rooted to the same seat for too long.

Again, shoot off is at Noon, and your intrepid, and rather dashing (if I may say so myself) updaters will be braced for action, guns a blazing and ready to unload a wealth of coverage onto your screens. Be there or be very square.

yo snoopy - there I was in Galway wondering why you were not there? Then I see you opted for the bahammas instead. I must have been a hard choice swapping the IPC for the PCA.

Anyway - Ireland has one remaining rep in the shape of Rory Rees Brennan (or Rory Brennaan as he appears to be listed). Can you keep an eye on him and shoot us some updates on his progress over the course of the day.

ty,

Noel.

Hey Snoopy/Homer,

Not sure if you've seen the thread in GD, but we were discussing the payout structure and Matt674 made a post about a $225k+ discrepency in the payout structure (see below) could you ask the Pokerstars powers that be why this is?? Or if the payout structure that has been posted is wrong

Matt's post - cut and pasted from here: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=30297.0

always amazes me how they get away with it.........

1136 runners pay $7800 + $200 for juice - so thats $227,200 in rake paid.

1136 lots of $7800 = $8,860,800

total paid out in prize money = $8,594,976

so what happens to the $265,824 missing from the prize pool?

Also, the one above that is blacked out by the marker pen states that an additional 5% of the money goes to bloggers, particularly those at blondepoker.com
