But he took a bite, therefore he owed them?
he didn't leave any teethmarks though so they could probably resell it.
I'm going off you.

Nothing what-so-ever, no. I just do whatever mrsB tells me I should do.

My Sky TV package costs £21pm. I get everything except sports and movies.
My Sky box and dish are ancient, (the box is bigger than Paris Hilton's overnight bag)
I took the contract out about 12 years ago, since then, I have moved loads of times (but I haven't told them)
Now I would like some new equipment, perhaps even Sky+.
Now, how would you go about it. Would you tell them that my address has changed and ask if I can upgrade my equipment, or do you think that will cause then to put me on a "New" i.e more expensive tarriff.
If I do tell them that I have moved, will they also want to charge me (as an existing customer) for the new equipment?
Would I be better to cancel my contract and sign up as a new customer from my new address, and thereby benefit from the "Brand new customer only" offers? or will their be any mileage in the fact that I haven't missed a single payment in 12 years?
If I do have to have a new package, how much will it cost to get the same thing I have now?
Apart from buying the equipment, is there a monthly charge for the Sky+ service.
Thanks In advance.

Sky+ service is 10£ a month if you don't have the full 42.50 package.
You can just call them up and tell them you've moved. No rproblems there, they'll just change the address..they don't care.
There is no new more expensive tarrif, i think everything without the movies is still 21£ (or something very close)..I am also sure that any price increase that would apply to you would already have been applied to you...so if you shouldn't be paying 21£ you'd already be paying more.
additional info PM sent.

I've had mates be successful with phoning to cancel their Sky - and eventually agreeing to stay for a free/discount sky+ box.

MrsB gets free sky+ as she works for the evil Murdoch empire.

Cheapest way, buy the new sky+ box off of ebay,
Insert your viewing card, ring up sky and tell them you have upgraded your box to Sky + and they will pair up your viewing card with the new Sky+ box.
Sky + costs nothing extra per month and your montlhy bill will be the same.
You will have to change the LNB on your dish to a Quad LNB which you can also get cheap off of Ebay and you will need to wire another coax cable from dish too Sky+ box (as it needs two feeds).

I rang up and cancelled sky a few months ago thinking I would lose sky+ and the chargeable channels but keep the freeview channels.
I was surprised when sky+ still worked but then it turns out they are still charging me £10 a month for sky+. Obv sky+ is the nuts so I just left it like that but from what you guys are saying I shouldn't be paying anything at all?
If you have sky+ and cancel do you get sky+ with freeview for free? Should I ring up and complain or just cancel the direct debit?

Yes, its straight forward but maybe a pair of wire cutters would help too.
