It's amazing how much elementary stuff I have little or no understanding of.
So I've gone through life not knowing that 80 x 0 = 0.
It's made me wonder what else I don't know.
Imagine I was a 14yo at school. What sort of stuff (Other than maths) would they teach me on an average day?
What would a typical lesson be like, and how ling would it last?

They want me to do it too, but I've avoided it all day. How different is it?

Riding Motor Cycles
Sikhs who wear Turbans need not wear crash helmets when they ride Motor Cycles or Scooters. They have been allowed to wear Turban as their only headgear. In accordance with the Motor-Cycle Crash Helmets (Religious Exemption) Act 1976 passed by the British Parliament in 1976, Section 2A "exempts any follower of the Sikh religion while he is wearing a turban" from having to wear a crash helmet.
I'm interested in this type of legislation. Look at the wording.
"any follower of the Sikh religion while he is wearing a turban"
What, exactly, constitutes a turban, and what is the test for
"Following the Sikh religion?"

English, German/French/Spanish, Science, PE, Geography, History... Then at the end of year nine, when your 14 funnily enough, you pick fewer subjects that you'd like to concentrate on for the last 2 years of school, the main three are obligatory as well as R.E if you go to a catholic school ( at least that was the case at my school).
Lessons would normally be one hour long. You have 5 lessons a day. We'd start at 9, have 2 lessons then a break, then 1 more lesson. then an hours dinner break then 2 lessons in the afternoon. A typical lesson would be something like, "open your textbook to page x" then work from that, depending on the subject ofc. Science was normally pretty fun doing different experiments of mixing chemicals etc. Maths was my always favourite subject.
I had a History teacher that was a bit of a clown and she really didn't like me, I was a bit cheeky at school, but only to teachers' that didn't like me or who I didn't think where fair, wierdly they always still gave me decent reports which I was always baffled by. Anyway, I always had pretty messy writing at school and she always used to moan about it, then one day she said I had to use this specific pen that she gave me, a "special" pen she called it, well I thought she was taking the piss so I refused, everyone was giving me stick about this "special" pen and she was clearly amused so I flat out refused to use the pen. She wouldn't let it go and I refused to use it so she kicked me out of the class. About five minutes later, the head of History, who was pretty strict but he was fair, comes passing by and I'm thinking, FML run worse, he asks why have I been kicked out of class so I said because she wants me to use this pen and I don't like it, I have my own pen so why should I. He didn't believe me so I said go in and ask, so he goes in to the class and asks why I'm outside and she confirms what I'd said, he responds " well he doesn't have to use the pen then and get him back in the class", her faces was an absolute picture, GTFO
It was nice to win one as teacher's would normally always stick together even if it was blatantly obvious they where wrong.

What a great reply. You even threw in a story, ty.
I think I would have liked those subjects, especially sci his & jog. But I think you're right, a lot depends on the teacher.

Right click on any toolbar, click customise, then drag that bloody home page button back where it belongs.
At least, that's what I did

When I was younger all the people who I knew that where a little bit older than me would always say to me "you'll wish you where back there once you leave", I never loved nor hated school, but since the day I left I've never wished I could go back. Some of my teacher's where really good, some where twats, and yeah, funnily enough I much preferred the classes where the teacher's where canny.

When I click 'customise' a box with symbols opens.
Also, my little progress bar with the green segments has diserped from the right hand bottom corner
