Or you could move into the other field...

Quite so. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Tom has all that land, in the two fields, but he has to go & plonk himself & Mrs Red + tribe, right down where the moles are. It's harrassment, & it's moleist.

SO she gets 3yrs and the parents of the two boys who damn near killed two other weaker kids may not even be prosecuted for the years of neglect and worse that led to them being the amoral sociopaths they apparently are?
I tend to agree with you, but I think the issue goes wider than that.
Society as a whole is hog tied by the nanny state. For a generation now, we have been been forced to accept bad behaviour from children and adults alike. Gone are the days when right minded people could step forward and say, "We won't allow you to act that way, now stop, or suffer the consequences"
I was outside Morrison's supermarket the other day and two kids, (perhaps 10 or 11 year olds) were running the old "Security" guy ragged. They were just using him as an object of fun, dashing past him, bumping and barging into him and shouting "Come om then you old bastard" secure in the knowledge that no one could do a thing about it.
And the truth is, we really could do nothing. Dozens of decent people looking on, powerless. A young man did grab one of the boys by the collar, and the boy immediately flung himself to the ground, writhing around in agony. The young man got scared and hurried away, and the boys continued their game.
How many times have you seen loutish behaviour (or worse) and watched everyone turn away?
It wasn't always so.
I'm afraid I refuse to stand back and watch. I told some kids off at the local co-op the other night - running around - completely unattended and they did at least leave the shop. When I left I saw them with their Dad - he was standing outside the pub having a fag, before he went back in to keep drinking and the kids ran off again to create chaos elsewhere.
[ ] He sure wins parent of the year award.
and that's the crux of the issue - Parental Responsibility.
From all reports the parents of the Edlington children inducted these two into a life where meaningless violence was the norm. We can point fingers at an overstretched Social Services function, and we can tut as much as we like about the fact that ordinary decent folk can't step in for fear of returbution, but ultimately, in this instance,
the parents should face the consequence
.
hopefully criminal charges will result.....but if not, I wonder if the victims parents could bring a civil action against them?
No doubt they haven't many/any assets,to receive any damages, but to see this couple squirm/identified in court would be something.

Went to DTD today, didn't last long in the comp but won a couple of 3 way all-ins on the £1-2 cash table.
I was running good for once, so I did the decent thing and went south.
So, here I am at home playing the laddies e100 deepstack, (5k starting chips, 20 min clock) and there's this bloke sat to my left just moving all in pre every hand.
After a while peeps started calling him with AJ-KQ etc, he would have 52 or 94, but he wins every time. he's got over 30k now.
The only one he hasn't sucked out on (yet) is me. he doubled me up and now I'm asleep.
Come and have a look, it's worth it for the comedy value.

And as I type, he loses 3 consecutive all-ins and he's gone.

Do you think it's possible to get chocolate muffin poisoning, and does it matter if the muffins are double chocolate, chocolate chip, chocolate muffins, and you eat eight?
Mitigation - Bridie works in a shop and brings out of date stuff home. (The muffins cost 5p per pack of 4)

Lol. I would... If there was one left.
Thanks for the mole advice btw. I'm pretty adept at catching them as it happens, but Big Tone has taken them under his wing, so that's put the mockers on it.
They're what you might call "Made Moles" now. If I touch them, I'll be wearing a Sicilian necktie.

Has there ever been a decent film made where the main character has been "Forced out of retirement for one last job"?

Great programme on channel 138 (More4) "Thriller in Manila"
It's the story behind the fight. Fascinating.
