Long Shot.....
A few of you might remember me telling you about an old mountain bike that I rescued from a skip a few years ago. I fettled it up and it has served me well, but it doesn't really suit the type of riding I'm doing now, and what's more, it's developing some problems that are just not cost effective to fix.
So... I'm looking for an old / second hand Dawes Galaxy tourer to do up.
Anyone out there got one they want to sell, perhaps languishing in a shed or tripping them up in the garage?

Mrs Red is a terrible back seat driver.
I am watching one or two on Ebay but I didn't want to buy one and then have one of the members say "Hey, I would have sold you mine cheaper than that...."

Mainly just freeing - replacing missing/worn out/ siezed bits like wheels, tires, brakes, cables chainrings, derailleurs etc.
not bothered about cosmetics, not my bag.

So really you only need a frame?

I think it would prob work out too expensive if I were to start with a totally stripped frame.
I wouldn't expect all the examples I quoted above to be missing, surely there would be a few bits still attached?
