OMG!

A kid just looked up from his iPod and asked me, "Who raised, was it you Gramps?"

That's the first time someone who wasn't actually one of my grandchild has called me that.

What a strange feeling.

Shocked a bit rude isn't it!!

Is this at 50/1? I'll come give him a hard time when I get there  Wink

Don't attack him Melissa. Concentrate on comforting me instead.

Thought you'd like this one Red, shared the one you did about the grinding bike on the thread this was posted on on another forum.

The March figures are in.

Not very impressive I'm afraid.

It was a tough, testing, but immensely enjoyable month, and I did manage to stay on the clean side of the blanket... Just.

Pretty good numbers Tom, not many turn a profit, especially after expenses.

Don't forget the value of the fun, hard to quantify but priceless really. I know you can't eat fun, but it is what it is (or should be) all about really, in life as in poker.

I spend hours "working" the tips thread, it is not cost-effective, but it is fun- effective. And we make a bit of money, as do you.

What's not to like?

PS - congrats Gramps.

Good to see you at the weekend Tom.

Glad to hear you got back into profit for March. Better luck for April.

Ihave a couple of questions.

Do you play on line still?

If so do you play cash or tournies?

How come I have a head full of grey and you don't?

Was lovely to see you this week-end

I think it's an injustice that your diary only had 50 new pages and the other guy's got 170.  What the heck is that about?!

It was lovely to see you too, and himself of course.

As far as the diaries go, you do realise that there's a difference between quality and quantity, right?

Always nice to see you Kev, and especially nice to see Ju. (Isn't she looking well these days?)

I don't play very much online these days, certainly no where near as much as I used to. Mostly just the odd satellite or something.

The truth is, I just don't seem to have what it takes to win online these days. When it comes to cash I'm just not good enough. I can't play more than about 4 tables at once, and I can't handle the tracking software, I'm better at MTTs but I don't have the bankroll to cope with the variance.

That being said, I would love to find a way to make a modest living from online poker, it's so convenient,  and it would make my live poker session that much more special.

My hair is shot through with grey already. I'm sure it will be completely white, (or gone altogether) by the time I'm your age.

BTW - Did you know that grey hair is hereditary? You get it from your kids.

Aye.  He rambles about concrete, trains and planes...bless.  We've art over here.  No contest.

We tried to order you nibbles in lieu of a drink - TWICE, but the kitchen was closed both times.  Sigh.  Sounds like we pulled a 'celtic', but I was seen begging them to open...honest.  Glad you were looked after from some corner or other though.

I know. I did hear reports of a crazy American woman demanding that the kitchen be re opened, and one of the valets asked me why everyone was trying to feed me.

"I mean, it's not as though you look like you need it is it? She said innocently. Cheeky mare!

Anyway. Nice to see you back. Loads to catch up on.

How are the kids and the dogs? Which part of the house or garden are you currently demolishing?

Life has been excellent!

Kids are doing really well.  Brian's first year at uni didn't go so hot.  He struggles desperately with maths and he made the mistake of choosing a maths heavy course.  Not one to give up, he went back to secondary school for an extra year, studied his backside off and managed to get the extra points required to carry on in uni under a different course.  He's been having a brilliant time of it since going back and his grades show it.  I'm so proud of him.

SinĂ©ad graduated secondary school last year, but she'd literally just turned 17 and decided she was too young to head to uni yet.  She got excellent scores on her leaving cert, so she's taken the year off working a part time job and will head to uni in September.  She's still a stubborn pain in the backside though.  Dunno where she gets it from.

Sarah graduates next year and is studying hard for the Leaving cert.  She watched the other two worrying so much about points, and doesn't want to be rushing at the last hurdle to make sure she gets there.  She's been over to visit a couple of times and will be here in May for our 10k run.  Can't wait!  Well, I'm not so excited about the run...lol, but really looking forward to seeing Sarah.  10k run.  WTF was I thinking?!

I've not been demolishing anything lately.  The dogs do that for me.  They've been having parties and all sorts, the lil' darlings.  Our back garden is in a shocking state and I'll be tackling it as soon as it stops snowing.  Maintenance type stuff is all we're at from now on.  Have put major DIY on hold for a while because we're selling this house...and moving to America!!!  Surprisingly, it was Jack's idea after a trip to Ohio to meet the family in October.  The kids are talking about moving over after uni as well.  They've requested we buy a house with a pool.  No pressure then.  lol  So all very good things happening.

How's Mrs. Red and all the family?

The tone of the above post makes me think we might have?!

If so, nice to meet you!
