My favourite case of this kind was about the Ford Pinto:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grimshaw_v._Ford_Motor_Co.

(Under "fuel tank defect")

This one for those who prefer a long read and want to know how much a human life is worth:

The benefit/cost analysis is pretty cold blooded.

Thought you'd enjoy that. Amazing to read something written like that.

I enjoyed the golf so much this week.

If I was 40 years younger I'd give it a bash.

Rich Hall is on BBC4 tonight 9pm.

If you're not familiar with him, dry USA social commentator.

I love the pic with all of your girls, I'm really rather jealous.

Hi Ralph.

I thought I'd replied to this already but if I did I must have forgotten to post it.

I am a fan of Rich Hall but I didn't know this was on. I just started to watch it on iPlayer but it was so good I decided to save it to watch with Mrs Red.

PS- I've just added you to my very short list of TV programme recommenders, (should that be one m or two?) Tony is also on my list. He finds some real gems sometimes, but I do have to weed out stuff like concrete for beginners, Robbie Williams does Dallas etc.

Thanks Cos.

How are your lot, and when did you last see them?

I seem to recall you saying something about missing your little sister.

Also, how are things in Thailand what with the unrest, curfews and all that?

He lived the dream for a while but posted a disappointing score.

That shirt gives the illusion that I'm slightly tubby.

Shirt?

No no, it's the belly that makes you look tubby.

All joking aside Tom, I'm very surprised to see you have let yourself go that badly.

A rare photo of all my girls together in one place.

If I measure my wealth by counting the things that money can't buy, I'm a millionaire.

Blimey.

How proud are you, Tom?

Bet there are a whole lifetime of wonderful memories in that photo.

And the ladies look fascinating

When did fascinators overtake hats in popularity? Must get me one.
