How did that Singleton bloke do in the end?
He lived the dream for a while but posted a disappointing score.
That shirt gives the illusion that I'm slightly tubby.
XX
Shirt?
No no, it's the belly that makes you look tubby.
All joking aside Tom, I'm very surprised to see you have let yourself go that badly.
Perhaps I could smoke myself thin....
If you are alluding to my previous habit, I've packed up smoking.

My golf diet's working well this year Tom so maybe that's the way forward.
I hit a new summer low of 11st 11lbs after my game yesterday.

I had to employ the aid of google to even know what "vaping" was. What a horrible word.

I don't know about vaping but I've heard he's fond of twerking.

Just as a little incentive to start playing golf Tom, it might interest you to know that my dad didn't take the game up until he was fifty, and he got down to a handicap of twelve(pretty decent standard) within a few years.
He absolutely adored the game and played until he was almost ninety.

I think I would like to Ralph, but I have an addictive nature. If I start I'll be playing at every opportunity and I'm scared of adopting a new time sponge.

Just thought I'd mention that the term "basking" reminded of the "Basking Shark", the world's 2nd largest fish. They have a very large mouth.
All seemed appropriate, somehow, given your new-found super-girth.

just catching up. great family pic.
Thanks Cos.
How are your lot, and when did you last see them?
I seem to recall you saying something about missing your little sister.
Also, how are things in Thailand what with the unrest, curfews and all that?
Hey Tom,
Sorry for the slow reply. I am in England at the moment but go back to Thailand tomorrow. I've been back for 10 weeks now and not done a huge deal but spent lots of time with family, which has been perfect. I haven't been back to the UK in 2 years and in that time my sister has gone from little girl to young woman.
She got 13 A*'s in her GCSEs last year so everyone's incredibly proud of her. No-one more so than me. I bought her a laptop today for when she goes off to Uni next year which is the butt of a lot of stress for her at the moment. Her school wants her to apply to Oxbridge and whilst she is keen to go elsewhere she feels like the might be missing a huge opportunity there. To add to that she just doesn't know what she wants to study or what career path she wants to go down.
My grandma who was like a 2nd mum to me until I was about 7 (we used to live with my nan until then) is now much older and sadly her health has taken a turn for the worse in the last 2 years. I think I will have to make UK visits more frequent.
At the moment the military takeover, whilst initially met with a lot of silent scepticism has quickly become really quite popular. They have made a lot of great changes to combat the corruption that goes on. Thailand really is incredibly corrupt.
The one bad thing that affects me is that they seemed to be taking a stronger stance on immigration. Understandably national security has to be their number 1 concern and there are a lot of people in Thailand just doing whatever they want, including those working illegally. Whilst I 'work' there I am not taking any Thai job but there are several who are, not paying taxes etc and so the army have started turning away people who are doing their visa runs by crossing the border and turning back. Often what I would do is fly to KL, wait a few hours in the airport and fly straight back into thailand. Trigger another 3 months stay in the country. Let's see what happens.
Writing that kind of made me want to keep my diary going....

Everyone went out and left little tiny baby Oleg alone in a hot caravan.
When I got home he was almost a gonner.

Cos if your sister would like to talk to me about Oxbridge (good and bad, and Cambridge specifically) she would be more than welcome. Sure Tal would say the same and could offer a varied, though similarly valid, perspective.
PMs welcome any time.
