I would kick back and admire that roof for hours
Haha. I already have.
Can't relax for too long though, I have to deal with the aftermath of the old roof.

Very nice job Tom - it turned out lovely.
Cheers Ralph.
The girls said it will last for ever now. They reckon when all the Gypsies are extinct the National Trust will turn it into a visitors centre and gift shop.

Love the roof too. My list of handyman jobs is getting bigger, and they aren't nearly so complex.

Is that before you clobber it with the mallet?
Not a chance. Our annual village fete hold a Hit-the-nail-in-the-log competition, the winner is the one who can knock a six inch nail into a seasoned log in the fewest number of swings using the wrong end of a bricklayers hammer.
Guess who wins it every year?
My record is 4 strokes.

There is an apres ski bar in Austria that you used to be able to try this every night Krazy Kangaroo in Kitzbuhel(it I had remember right)

Just do it Doobs. I had no idea how to make a roof but I just jumped in. There are loads of helpful videos on YouTube covering almost every step of any project you can imagine.
You can read instruction manuals for ever but nothing beats actually seeing it done.

Nice Job Tom. How are you and yours, well I hope?
We're all great thanks Kev, in fact I've just about reached the stage where I think 'Blimey, something has to go wrong soon'. Fortunately, most of the time it doesn't, and if it does, most of the time it's not as big a deal as I worried it might be.
Does that make any sense at all?
How's your lot?
My lot all in a good place right now. Sam just swapped jobs. Alex moved in to a flat 2 months ago and Callum gets married in Sept with Gracie as bridesmaid. Me and Joo both have big birthdays this year, yikes.

I meant to ask the oldies on here, do you feel a sense of belonging with other oldies because of your age?
I do. It's like a laid back, nothing to prove, realise that most stuff isn't important, appreciate life day by day and count your blessings, more smiley, more patient kind of clique.
It's great.

Well karabiner & nirvana are better placed to reply than me, Tom, but yes, I know what you mean.
The only problem is that I'm at that age where I keep thinking/saying/writing "I'm at that age".
I had the most unexpected & wonderful few minutes on Saturday, details to follow a little later, but 10 or 20 years ago I would barely have noticed, whereas now, it filled me with joy. It's because I'm at tha......
