Please don't adjust your sets, that really is Richie Lawlor sitting, those genuinely are his chips and (I know, it's getting unbelievable now, but stay with me), he is indeed one of the chip leaders with 86,500. See, anything can happen in this game.

They've gone bad beat mad here in Waterford, and one of the most shocking, or amusing depending on how you look at it, outdraws thus far was dealt out by this man, Colin Fardey (please correct my spelling if that is off target). With Dave Mahoney making it 3k pre-flop, Colin pushed all-in from the big blind, only to be looked up by Pocket Nines and subsequently forced to reveal his er... slightly under-the-cosh 3-2 off suit.

However, it's a funny old game as Jimmy Greaves once said (although I'm not sure he was referring to poker at the time), and after a 3-T-Q-3-5 board slammed against the felt, it was ouches, ooohs and aaahs all around as Colin scooped a perhaps undeserved pot. Dave, meanhwile, was a good sport in painful defeat, calmly saying "no problem" when Colin frantically apologised before exhaling deeply and announcing, "time for a cigarette break" I think.

As you know this is not an ordinary poker tournament. This is a team event and team tactics are needed. We've seen team captain's coaching, advising, councilling and even shouting at their fellow players. It is however interesting that if two players from the same team enter a pot with each other, they must check it down. that is no aggressive action can be taken.

It appears team tactics will only allow for coaching through words rather than chips.

Also having his testicles crunched by the Poker God driven steam roller is poor Sean O'Sullivan. I joined the action very late in the day (well, so late in fact that the board had been dealt, David Browne was raking in the pot and Sean was close to tears), but after conferring with my secret source, it would appear that it was an all-in pre-flop jobby with Browne's Fives looking for a third five to topple O'Sullivan's Sevens.

Although that set didn't arrive, the good ol' runner runner back-door-up-the-exit-hole straight did make a guest appearance, Browne surviving by the very skin of his teeth on a cruel 4-3-7-8-6 board.

There are currently 46 players remaining out of the initial 124 entries. We are on level 11 with the blinds at 600/1,200 with a running ante of 100. The average stack is 41,413, and in 15 minutes the blinds will rise to 800/1,500 (100).

As I write that, it is announced that Mick Stephens is the latest exit.

What do people think of that? I've always considered poker to be an every man for himself kinda game, so it seems odd that we will see hands being intentionally checked down between team mates.

Action action action on table action! That's right, Flipper and Richie Lawlor have locked horns big style in a massive pre flop confrontation which leads us to a new chip leader in the tournament. With all the chips in preflop in a flurry of raises and re-raises it was Lawlor who was ahead going to the flop.

Snoops, any idea on the prize breakdown, who is winning the overall comp/what the scores are?

It's difficult to know who's winning at the moment, but last I heard, it was Jeff Roger's mob who were leading the way as all four of their players, at time of writing, still remain in the tournament. However, they may not be big chip daddies, and in that sense, I think Robbie Lawlors' team are in with a good shout as they have three players remaining with Robbie currently holding the chip lead with over 100k.

As for the prize structure, I haven't seen any official details, but I do know that Neill came up with a structure based on the 60 teams that played last year. I believe that 31 partook this time around, so I reckon halving all the prizes wouldn't be a bad start.

Last Year we were limited to 60 teams and filled . Here was the payout Structure last year
