havent got a strong fancy ,i checked form out last week and it dosent look a strong race this year, cloudy lane looks best to me ,should run a great race ,7/1 price expected to fall, interesting news for next years race though, 1 of the owners of denman was saying before the gold cup that not only will denman run in next years grand national he will win it,iif they offer a decent price straight after this years national i will be having a bet

Denman will not go for the National next year..hey thought about it before the GC but have decided it'd be silly as the horse is WAY too good for an ordinary handicap.
I have yet to see any stand out horses for the national this year. Cloudy Lane at 7's is looking way too skinny for me..but it's one of the weakest nationals in years.
I'll see what comes over from Ireland before deciding what to bet on.

right thanks, yeah he must love the race but it is taking a bit of a risk ,and i always think of alverton ,so cant blame him for changing his mind, 7/1 is skinny for the national and i always look for value but could start at 5/1 on the day with it being a weak race , i wouldnt say i fancy it that stongly but i just cant see anything better myself ,as you say ,may be worth looking for a dark horse coming over from ireland,

So far this year it seems to be about picking out horses that can't win, rather than those that can.
As usual will wait until the week of the race, the ground and weights after the 5 day decs are all i'll be interested in.

Im on Snowy Morning E/W at 24-1.
At one stage this was clear favourite for the national but a bad race has allowed the price to drift.
I still think he is very well handicapped and will have a big chance.

I liked this at one stage, then saw it and ruled it out. was 10s at the times, might have a tiny place bet on it

I'm waiting for Bandit to select 39 horses that he thinks have a chance, and then I'm putting my house on the remaining horse.

This is enough for me;
http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=racing/08/03/17/RACING_National_Pointment.html
25-1 looked big..convinced it is too big now. If MR Pointment runs in the national he won't be bigger than 12's.

Pointment may have too much to carry.
Had a brief look and will keep an eye on Bewleys Berry and Point Barrow

Lol been there ... Its no wonder that the general public don't like gambling when this is only punt they have in a year still can't see the logic in why people choose to only bet on 1 race a year;that race being the hardest 1 to pick a winner (history and all that i no but still)
Quite funny last year me dad got his wife(my step mam) to put his bets on she accidently picked up all our bets as well so he had more than half the runners in the race lol. And his own pick won think he was up £2 lol.
