Just to show that we haven't brushed the demands of the NAS under the carpet, here's a norky young minx I found lurking around the STT tables.

Hi Dana's minions !... is there a side event schedue anywhere, s'il vous plait?

(BSQ Poker Poster)

I'm afraid I must pull you up on that comment. If anything, Dana and Jen are my minions, as shown by this picture of me and my oompa loompas at the last Christmas party.

After taking a major hit early doors, temporary Michael Jackson impersonator (see Jen's photo from earlier) Roberto Romanello is now er... history after running Pocket Tens into Pocket Queens. "I can't keep folding," he declared in defeat.

I hate to interrupt this live update with personal issues, but I just purchased a tuna sandwich for €10. I can only compare the painful feeling inside to a burst appendix.  Cry

€20 hamburger just now consumed, and I'm not even full. Cry Cry

Jen had a €5 Coke. Cry Cry Cry

How did said burger compare with the DTD deluxe variety ?

To be honest, it was not a bad burger. I would say it was roughly on a par with the DTD burger (the regular, not the deluxe - it seems like a fairer comparison) - both perhaps a 6.5 out of 10, where 1=the hamburgers my old school canteen served, and 10=the Best Hamburger In The World, which I consumed at the Clover Grill in New Orleans, Louisiana, in Autumn 2002.

However, when price is taken into account - around £8 for the DTD burger, €20=£16.05 (!!!) for my lunch today, $4.95 (£2.51) for the Clover Grillburger, a wide gap in the quality/price ratio becomes evident, making the Monte Carloburger almost exactly half as good as the DTD burger.

Are we looking at the Monte Carlo burger here? The first year I went the burger cost €20... on it's own!!! Fries were €8 extra. Also, most of the burgers were undercooked and brought many people down with iffy stomachs.
BTW can you say hello and good luck to Peter Roche for me.
Cheers

Someone was asking about side events:

Monday 14th 8pm - NLHE €500 (+50) 1 rebuy, 2 day event, final 15th April 2pm.

Tuesday 15th 5pm - NLHE €1,000 (+70) Freezeout, 2 day event, final 16th 2pm.

Wednesday 16th 2pm - NLHE €2,000 (+100) Freezeout, 2 day event, final 17th 2pm.

Thursday 17th 2pm - NLHE €500 (+50) Freezeout.

Plus there are sit'n'gos for the keen or the busted.  Just heard the announcer saying "Blew €200?  Table 29."  But he was actually saying 'blue' - the stt lists are colour-coded.  Sounded apt, though.

To save your fingers from pressing the 'back' button too much - Roberto is sadly now OUT.

Blind-on-blind all-in action - sort of...

I suspect what happened was that Maria Maceiras limped in from the small blind and the gentleman to her left, possibly but not definitely one Mr Dominik Stopka, raised to 2.5k or so (missed that bit of the hand, but there was 5k or so in the pot when I arrived) only for Maria to go all in for another 8k or so. Mr Maybe Stopka had the clock called on him before folding up. Maria doesn't show, but looks immensely relieved...
