he is a quality signing for barca! as an arsenal fan i feel he was arsenals 2nd best player of the season after flamini and now the club have let both go its abs unbelievable!!!! i felt that even b4 hleb left we needed another winger and now we possibly need 2 more! and seems gilberto is going to panathanikos so we will need a CM aswell! i herd wenger is in for barry but at he is reported to be worth £18M! if that is true then it is bad business by AW not to atleast make enough money for that bid through Hleb

Yeah he was bought for about the same amount he was sold for....to compare him to Henry's situations a bit harsh, Henry was coming to the end of his career, Hleb is at the peak of his. If Wenger is after Alonso for the reported 14mil then that is not good business imo. Being a Liverpool fan i would much rather have Hleb than Xabi. People are talking about Nasri being a ready made replacement, he is not. Seen him a play quiete a few times, dont get me wrong hes a very good player but he's no Hleb. I dont know, maybe im just really shocked that my favourite premiership player has left for such a cheap price when you have players half as good as him going for double the price. He reminded me a lot of Zidane(obv no one is as good the great man), touch was immense and the ability to drift pass players just wow. He will be massive at Barca, him and Messi in the same team just wowzer!

he could be great at barca but part of me thinks its a stupid move on his behalf! i mean there are only so many midfielders u can have in one team and barca currently have yaya toure(who i think wenger should have brought in a swap deal) iniesta Xavi messi bojan keita crosas and others who play in that position so i think the number of games that he will get this season will be a lot less than wat he is expecting!

Hleb is amazingly talented and one of the best Arsenal have..Arsenal don't seem to be doing the best of business when selling players..I thought 16mill for Henry wasn't enough but OK he's 30...I am stunned at this one though.

obv as an arsenal fan i get upset when people leave but to be honest, and this might sound a bit wierd, with the exception of one or 2, players in general have not done well since leaving arsenal!

Alonso = £14M
Barry = £18M

henry= £16M
Bent = £16M

i can understand Barry cuz all english players are overpriced now and they will be even more overpriced if that stupid 6+5 rule comes in but Alonso for £14M is unbelievable!

Alonso for 14 mil is aout right IMO. Hleb left a little cheaply bu I dont see Alonso as expensive.

Not compared to Carrick/Hargreaves/Mascherano/Mikel/Essien who were all more expensive.

£12 million for Hleb doesn't sound a lot but only 11 goals in 129 appearances is not a good record for an attacking midfielder when both Pires & Ljundberg used to score at least 11 a season each. Added to the fact that he's now 27 and slightly injury prone probably makes the price about right. Unfortunately Wenger seems to only want to buy potential players and not established players and this will surely hinder Arsenal's chances this season especially if either or both of Gilberto & Adebayor make their way through the exit door.

i was discussing this with another arsenal fan a while ago and we decided the 3 players we wudnt mind going where Adebayor, Eboue(even if for free) and Diaby! Flushy has watched a fair few arsenal games at my house(never again tho) and he will testify how much i hate those 3.... much to toby's dissappointment lol
