How difficult can it really be to break through in a 'sport' as dull as Archery or shooting?

I now announce i am purchasing a top of the range bow for £184 and i shall be practising pretty hard for the next 3 years in my quest to make London 2012.

My progress shall be documented here.

lol..I thought of doing the same a few years ago but couldn't be arsed actually doing it....and agree, if you put the hours in and have a steady hand you'll be fine (shooting is easier than archery as you need tonnes of strength for the archery.)

I was discussing the very same thing with the Mother in Law earlier!  Surely I could get good enough at something to be in the next Olympics.

I remember a radio interview with the world croquet champion a couple of years ago. When asked what the attraction of the game was he said that there wasn't one really. One day he decided he wanted to be world champion at something, so picked a game hardly anyone played and practiced lots.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the 2012 Olympics, I'm Sue Barker.

Next up is Graham from team GB.  375 strokes per minute, but has he got the finish.

LOL Maureen Cheesy

Baseball and softball must be quite easy, plus they are team events so all you have to do is get in a good side.  I'm probably not too old to do some of the Equestrian events but can't afford a pony.  Archery or shooting are obvious choices imo,

sigh.  what happened?

I dont think i have the attention span. I am going to discuss this with the official British Archery Association and see how i can progress. I used to shoot arrows in the cubs and scouts in various jamborees so i have a small level of experience.

We shall see
