Very disappointing.  The punches that caught him were obviously hard, but they weren't short, sharp punches that Khan couldn't have avoided or blocked.  Terrible approach to the fight in terms of walking forward towards a known puncher with little/no guard.  Very amateurish.

Instead of focusing on developing his boxing career and turning him into a well-rounded pro who can grow and develop into a world-class fighter all the focus was on celebrity and the stardom.

[ ] New trainer did well preparing him for the fight and selecting the opponent.

Hopefully, Khan and the bandwagon will stop believing the hype and focus on developing him into a decent British/European/World fighter before trying to sell him as a 'top 10' fighter.

Agreed, he actually just ran head first toward Prescott ready for the tear up. Hopefully this will be the best thing that ever happens to him, it was always going to happen, I just thought he would cruised to a (possibly cherry picked) world title before he did.

Lol at the crowd booing Audley Harrison after one round and cheering the Brazilian on. At least Khan is always exciting to watch, Harrison represents what is wrong with boxing these days.

Alex Arthur never turned up, very good solid performance from Cook.

Boxing sucks, I'd rather watch a UFC event.

You watch wrestling - so you're more after the spectacle than the sport, aren't you?

That's an interesting point, but I'd probably say not necessarily. I do like the spectacle, humour and storylines of wrestling but I'm also fascinated by the athletic ability and the technical aspect of what they do. Seeing how an Olympic gold medalist like Kurt Angle adjusts to the whacky world of wrestling and Jeff Hardy somersaulting through the air is something that will always interest me. When I watch UFC, the big knock outs are of course entertaining, but I probably prefer the more strategic battles you find at the lesser weights. Boxing just seems to bore me these days and is too affected by outside influences. Stick two guys in a cage and let em fight. Sounds good to me.

How much boxing do you watch though?  Is it only the big fights, with the big British fighters?  There are lots of very good fights to watch away from the highly promoted ones that are there for the normally non-boxing watching general public.

Audrey Harrsion is an example of the problem of what the channels consider good fights to promote and show.

On the radio today there was a discussion about how bad Khan's jaw is.  Some were saying a good punch will knock anyone out, the others that Khan should have been able to take it.

To me it whilst it hit him right on the button, it didn't seem to be  Prescott's Sunday best.

Can Khan learn from this and come back all the way to the top ?  Or is he now just yesterday's kid ?

I don't wish him bad, I believe his only problems are being a kid, and believing his own press.  And not having had the best boxing education / training that he deserves.

But it looks bad to this non boxer

If a top fighter who can bang, lands a good punch on the button it can put down most other fighters in the same weight.

The ones that put Khan down were obviously hard shots, but they were blockable/avoidable.  The shocking thing was the effect the first jab that landed had on Khan.  It knocked him back and looked to daze him.  This would be a huge concern to me.

That's roughly what I was thinking.  Khan left a huge gap with his left hand for Prescott to aim at, but the initial punch that staggered Khan, to me, looked none too bad, even if the knockdown punches were really horrifying.

I think that's what I said earlier - just slightly more succinct than my post Cheesy

Ok, I can't argue that he's always been overconfidant, to say the least.  But he is still a kid.

Spare a thought.

Fancy having to wake up one Sunday morning, and have to ask yourself if you are a washed out has been at the age of 21.

spare a thought?..Mismanaged to the extreme, poorly advised he turned pro much too soon..he should have surrounded himself by better people and keep his feet on the ground.

If he is a true champion or wants to be one, this will be a wake up call for him, he'll sack his management..quit all the "look at me" telly crap that he's been doing and spend more time in the gym, training harder than he ever has before. If he does that he certainly isn't washed up yet...if he sticks to doing what he hgas been doing ever since the Olympics, he's squandered a tremendous amount of talent.

Yup.

But  thinking about it, he HAS got a fair few bob tucked away to live a life of excess luxury and random wastage.  Never needing to do a proper days work in his life.

So it's not all bad then.
