I don't really know anything about them, other than owning a Eurovox MaxV or whatever it's called.

That one looks excellent though, and I think I'd be going for one like that (with a recorder) if I was buying mine again.

Blatant "I have a flashy HD TV" brag post imo.

Cheesy

Another question, I used to have cable as my tv but switched over to Sky, can I test if the feed is still live by plugging the old cable wire thingy in to the back of the tele - will/should it pick up freeview channels? I think I read on the forum that's what you do but I'm not 100%.  Also, my internet is still cable, can I use the internet cable to do this or is it seperate?  If I can, can I split the cable in to two, one for the net and one for the Eurovox?

I have cable broadband, but cancelled my TV.  I have a splitter (about £3) that takes the signal to the TV as well as the cable modem.

You won't need to test it, it will work.

Cool.  I'm undecided on whether or not to have my Eurovox in the living room or in the room with the computer.  I currently have Sky in the living room but a tv card in my comp with the Sky freeview channels in the comp room.  Obv having the sports in a second room is a huge bonus, but having the rest of the channels in the main room is a plus too as we don't subscribe to the movies or setanta.

Decisions decisions.

Where do you get things like splitters from?  I really don't have a clue and I'm sure our Tandy's stopped trading about 10 years ago!

Ebay for £3.  Some of the Eurovox sellers include one with them.

Get two boxes - problem solved.

thumbs up

Cheers, I think I'll just get one and see how it goes, then ask any questions I have afterwards Cheesy

I may get two, let's see if I can get one working first!

Got it today, updated the box, no problem, went to plug in the scart lead.....ah, I don't have a spare scart lead, in fact, I've just given one away with a video player I no longer use.

Tomorrow, I'll get one and see if I can get it working.

I'm having a lolshocking afternoon.

I popped into town to get the missing scart lead, finish up and go back to the car. I didn't quite open the car door far enough so it sprung back and hit me just above my eye on the boney part.   It hurt.   A lot.

Popped home to set the box up but opened my post first and letter one was  shitty letter from Vodafone saying that as I'd cancelled my direct debit, they're going to charge me more plus an admin fee.   It's an hour later but I've sorted that out.  It turns out that if you cancel your contract you can cancel your direct debit and all the fees are credited, but they don't bother to let you know.

Letter two was the speeding notice asking me to plead guilty otherwise they'll take me to court.  Evidence?  mmmmm evidence.

So I finally sit down and follow the instructions and I can see the set up on the screen.  I'm in here surely!  Needs to scan from 1 to 770 at a pace of about 2 seconds per channel.   OK I'll do a bit of tidying whilst I wait.  About 25 mins later I'm at 625/770 and it dawns on me that I didn't plug the arial in the back of the box.

It's a tiring afternoon and I've the thrills of our accountant popping over later Cheesy

Hopefully I'll get sorted out later.
