Christmas Shopping
«
on:
November 29, 2008, 01:13:56 PM »
Finished this yesterday with a one day shopping marathon, totally worth it though as I will not have to endure the shops when they really get busy, it was bad enough yesterday. I appreciate this could be deemed a bit of a brag post but I've done feck all on the poker tables to brag about so this will have to do.
Also hit on an idea to improve the defence of any football club in the land, replace the back four with two old ladies with shopping bags, there is nothing getting past them in a hurry.

Sorry, not trying to be insulting but I think you must have too much oestrogen if you've done Xmas shopping in November!!!
FFS I'm ashamed if I buy/order anything before Xmas eve!!!

Can't understand why early xmas shoppers are being scorned.
The wife and I have been collecting xmas gifts since Aug/Sept.
We have all our xmas shopping completed, only the xmas dinner shop to be done.
It spreads the costs, we don't have to worry about whether we have saved enuff come the last minute dash as many do and we've avoided all the hassle of the xmas shopping queues.
It also means we have most of September and Decembers wage to cover xmas dinner, our company parties and a couple of theatre events.
As the company I work for would say:
Preparation is everything.

Where did you hear this Mark?
Being married has nothing to do with it. Any single person could do the same.
We've been married 28 years and it's only the last 3 or 4 years that we have been this organised.
Just passing on a wee bit of advice as to how it can be done a wee bit easier, as usual, as it's deemed not the norm then it's scorned.

A slight touch of over-sensitivity perhaps? I'm sure no-one
really
doubts anyone's masculinity because they Xmas shop early.
That'll be a harmless pisstake wasted then.

Guys I can assure you I am all man, the proof of this is that I done the whole lot in one feckin day getting everything I intended to get, if my oestrogen levels were too high I'd have bought next to feck all and required at least four more trips round the shops before Christmas.
Now it's done I can spend the run up to Christmas relaxing watching football, racing, playing poker and drinking beer, planning and preparation FTW.

Where does masculinity come in to it? The comment was regarding being married, as was my reply.

+1. Dunno if it's cos I'm tight or I can't be arsed. FYI Sainsbury's generally the very latest shop open. Quite a challenge buying a whole list of items that 1) Look worthy of a Christmas present 2) Don't look like you bought them in Sainsbury's.
A Turkey! Again! Thanks!
