Not too much movement from David Jones as of yet, but neighbour Will Fry seems to be mixing it up a little during these early stages and played a number of hands. He just took one down on the flop in a battle of the blinds encounter with Trevor Reardon, so it would appear the recent EPT winner has no intentions on just creeping into the money. I guess half a million Euros can have that effect.

Kevin O'Connell limps UTG for 1,600. Fraser Bain raises to 6,200 with Rickie Vedhara calling in the big blind. O'Connell also calls.

Check to the raiser, who bets 10.5k. Vedhara calls, O'Connell passes.

Check check.

Vedhara bets 26k and with everything seemingly having got there, Bain folds quickly.

Looked like there was a raise and a call preflop (both in early position), but either way, Liaquat Javed and Lee McMillan saw a , which was subsequently checked to a turn where Javed bet out 6,000. McMillan seemed tempted momentarily, but ultimately turned over and relinquished his hand. Javed showed , and will have been disappointed not to have received more action, especially with the loose image he appears to have cemented himself throughout this event.

A mighty relieved John Burke just breathed a sigh of relief after surviving an all-in against Ints Grinbaums. Burke's chips crossed the line on a flop, and although he wasn't keen, Grinbaums made a reluctant call. Burke may have been delighted to see someone call his , but the last hand he wanted to see would have been . A turn and river, however, squashed any fears, and the veteran doubled through.

Just finished my egg benedict. Very tasty as expected, although I must say, that's the biggest plate I've ever seen for an egg and bacon sarnie.

Not a good start for Paul Gourlay. He's had Tens lose out to Jacks and then paid off Nick Hicks with Tens on a K-9-x-K board only to find the Hickster with K-J.

"I've played for almost 22 hours now, what's that? About 30 hands an hour? I've not had aces once!"
