6 handed live cash PLO £1 - £1

UTG has straddled for £2, I raise to £6 holding , everyone calls.

Flop -

It was checked round to me and I checked as the two guys to bet after me are looser than a student nurse.  They both check it though.

Turn -

Again it's checked to me - £36 in the pot what should I do? How do I get paid with such a big hand with two Jacks on the board?  Would someone not have to have pocket Jacks to lose any money to me here?  I bet £10 and one of the student nurses called.

I checked the river to him and he bet out £35 and I raised another £50 - he folded.

How do you go about extracting the most chips when your hand is so big it's almost too good?

just bet the flop? if they have a Jack they pay and if they dont they prolly wont get too committed even if they hit the underfull on the turn. You cant really check the flop representing weakness and then hope to get a shitload of action on later streets when you come to life.

Compare this to raisin with something like 5577 and flopping 55x, you can check flops hoping the field hits the boat on the turn... but given the texture of the board, not much good can come from checking the flop here, and if they are "looser then a student nurse", they wont tighten up much if they have a piece of the board.

this.

you just have to hope they've hit it hard aswell. You could give them until the river to do so but you'll always be revealing your hand really.

I most always bet the flop as anyone with a jack gives you action and aload of time some donk is lying in wait to checkraise pot with a AJxx.

I learned my lesson recently in a live cash game when i was on the button with JJxx board came J99 a villian in the cutoff went to bet he is very loose but he checked i just knew he had a 9 we were very deep stacked so this once i said i'll check behind with the cunning plan of him filling up on the turn and potting with me repotting my beautifully disguised hand yup a lovely came on the turn

I know this game, and im pressuming the stacks were deep, I would always be leading out on the flop especially as you raised a straddled pot pre they will be expecting you to cb anyway.
If they have a jack, or any possible straight draws etc you know there coming along with you.
If they fold so be it.

It was Wino and Big Rich to act after me Jase which is why I checked the flop assuming one of them would bet out as they always do..and because no one ever believes them I was assuming Mark and Chris would come along and I could raise it when it got round to me.  I'm sure that's the first time ever both of the have checked an unraised pot.

Definatly just unlucky, although your pre against them should look like AAxx, so if you lead and they call once the second King comes I think more than one of them may take a stab at taking it off you.
